texanwellfan
That's a tough loss. but we need to be a bit more threatening up front.
Richie
The play acting, time wasting and feigning injuries very typically Hearts. Something to behold.
weeyin
Well that was disappointing. There were points there to be taken, but we lacked the edge up top to take them. The comedy goal we gave away didn't help. Once again, a 1 goal margin of victory in this fixture.
postiejim
0-0 would have been about right.

MelvinBragg
Losing is fine, what is unacceptable is the way the team totally loses its shape when a goal down. In both the Accies game and today, panic set in. It was like boys brigade football with everyone chasing the ball. Amateurish. And don't get me started on Robinson's substitutions... Yodo
We now know what plan B is put Frear & Bowman on take Cadden & Johnson off . Once again Robinson showing how tactically inept he really is Cadden is wasted at RWB he must play further up the pitch Rose is only filling a shirt surely Turnbull must get a chance in the midfield .As I have said before we must win our home games to stay out of trouble created nothing all game the manager must take the blame for that his time is just about up . Ya Bezzer!
Today was a performance that slowly unraveled before our eyes, Started well and dominated the opening exchanges creating 3 or 4 decent chances. But whatever had charged our initial impetus started to fade after the 15 - 20 minute mark and instead of keeping Hearts on the back foot we started making poor decisions on the ball so that Hearts got more and more comfortable. We weren't being outplayed but Heart's looked fairly secure after a shaky opening. Then we had the catastrophic McHugh back pass and the game slowly but surely started to slip away. Poor passing, poor decision making, poor touch, lots of little mistakes, dallying, a lack of quickness of thought, players not making good position off the ball, all these conspired to give Hearts what turned out to be a fairly easy win for them. You might argue that we didn't deserve to lose the match but we've lost at home without really creating a chance for over 60 minutes or so with the opposition never getting out of 2nd gear. Two points. Curtis Main does a decent job outside the box but 2 goals in his last 19 league matches is not a good return. We need more goal threat and Main is not providing it. Secondly, Chris Cadden, 43 league matches without a goal and only 6 assists over that time isn't good enough either. When we are struggling to create and score I think we have to have a look at these two players.
steelboy
1 new outfield signing on show today. "Strengthen 12-17" yet we are still looking to Frear and Bowman to change things for us. Campbell is never an attacking midfielder, Cadden is never a wingback and Tait is wasted on the left. Rose is a passenger, drop him and put the three of them where they should be.

ropy
As bad a pass back that was, it was the ball to McHugh that initiated the bad passage of play. It was played behind him so he had to go backwards. It should be simple to play the ball in front of a player to take it in his stride. Should have been a simple pass back instead of a hospital ball

Stop talking shite, Carson hardly got his gloves dirty before he went off and Gillespie only had 1 or 2 saves to make. Hearts were feckin average at best it was a 0-0 all day long until we gifted them the goal.
Lobey_Dosser
My first league game of the season, proved to be a tough watch after starting fairly brightly. The lack of touch and technique from our front players is alarming. Feel for McHugh as he was our best defender but that was a helluva costly lapse in concentration given the injury to one of our biggest assets. On a positive note from a Scotland perspective, John Souttar is starting to look a bit special. Having seen him up close 3 times in 8 days, he looks destined for the big stage. They had 3 or 4 great chances second half and we had a weak McHugh header.
Yorkyred
Hearts we bang average at best, the fact they are top of the league tells a lot about the quality of Scottish football. They spent 60 minutes of the game time wasting. 2
Mortonhallwell
Given the gulf in resources we matched Hearts all over the pitch today. They went 4-5-1 in 2nd half to defend their lead rather than push on and get a second. We can take alot from todays game and hopefully we'll get the breaks in the Cup tie. Almost as bad as listening to BBC Sportsound telling us how great Hearts were, with Robbie Neilson, of all people, stressing our physicality. Hearts are big, tough and cynical in the Levein mould and know how to defend a slender and undeserved lead. How far that'll take them is debatable. The quality in this league is not great so it’s certainly a plus but they won’t be near winning the league.

dossertillidie
Thought we were decent in possession , trying where possible to get the ball on the deck but lacked efforts on goal after Carson went off as much as I like Cadden he’s wasted as RWB and I’d actually be happy for him to step aside for a spell on the sides Wasn’t happy to see Johnson go off, at that stage would have preferred to have seen us play with 3 up top and go for it Carson going off limited our options with subs and as much as I hope he’s ok not out for a long time I think we have a decent deputy in Gillespie
