Optimus Prime
I see our Ladies team has undergone a drastic overhaul in preparation for life in the top league. Only a handful of players remained from last season and we have brought in a swathe of new players mainly from our old rivals in SWPL2. Maybe those that left weren't deemed good enough for the top league.
seasonal
SWPL 1 season starts tomorrow v Stirling Uni at Fir Park ko 1400. This is due to normal home venue Ravenscraig indoor pitch being renovated. With a nearly new squad of 20 players Donald Jennow has recruited a mix of youth, ambition and experience. In previous seasons the Women's team was generally heavily balanced with experienced players. Having seen this team in the 2 pre season friendlies I have been very impressed with the young players we have brought in. The forwards and midfield have pace which we have seen a little of in previous seasons. A few well known goal scorers in the team too. A few players are moving up to SWPL 1 and i applaud their ambition to play at the top level. Obviously being newly promoted ambition is likely to be to remain in SWPL1. An interesting season lies ahead and is certainly worth Motherwell fans turning out to support their women's team.
seasonal
A winning start to the season 1-0 v Stirling Uni at Fir Park. A second half strike from captain Kerry Montgomery finally made the back of the net. Other strikes coming off the bar and the post. Motherwell were in control during the first half but some sloppy passing on a wet pitch ensured no goals. In the second half Well took more control of the game and were worthy of all 3 points. Still early days for this crop of players but some very good individual performances. Next Sunday is away to Forfar Farmington.

This season our aim should be stay up and it looks like we'll achieve that.
