Busta Nut
I know there is a thread for the reserves but I don't think this is getting enough attention. Why is nobody questioning the venue? I can't even see anything from the club on this. Surely the venue should be truly neutral? If there was a decision made before the start of the tourney the way they do with the European finals then fair enough. Again I can only see it being decided on Tynecastle after the semi final round. As little interest I have in reserve football I can't really believe there has been almost no mention of this. Am I missing something? Has it been questioned? I can't help but feel something fishy is goin on.
Kmcalpin
I agree that it should be a neutral venue. This seems to go against sporting fairness. No explanation so far. 7pm is also early for those travelling from Lanarkshire.
Busta Nut
There has to be an explanation behind it
Toxteth O'Grady
I'm old enough to remember us playing a reserve cup final against Celtic at Fir Park in the late 80s, so it has definitely happened before. The only explanation I can think of is they think they will get a bigger attendance if they play it at the home ground of one of the teams taking part(???) Does seem unfair, but I will be going regardless.
Big Wispy Flossy
Im sure I heard it was meant to Livingston but the manager didn’t want to play on their pitch
steelman1991
Definitely precedents been set - remember going to the Reserve Cup Final v Dundee United at Fir Park, the week before the big boys final in 1991.

I suspect you're right but the SFA should have made this clear. However an early kick off will not help.
dundeesteelman
It's been years since I've been to Tynecastle. Can anyone suggest anywhere to park close to the ground?
ropy
None of the recently emerged young team will be part of this, time for the next generation?
Neilwell86
Chance we will see cadden here, chance to get more minutes under his belt? not sure if the rules will allow it right enough.
ropy
The young boys have got the big bus for the final, quite right.
The African
Final score two nil to the Jambos. Still, an achievement to get to a final and looked like a young side. All about learning from the experienced and pushing on to improve and develop as players. Silverwear would have been nice, but not the end of the world. weeyin
Losing in finals is good practice for playing in the first team. Shame we couldn't finish the job, but a great run from the youngsters.
The African
Scant reward, but you do have to get to a final even to lose in a final. Once the dust settles, they can be proud of their efforts.
Onthefringes
Essentially, our under 18 squad tonight. Didn’t do themselves justice. An experience and something to be used as a spur. Liam Donnelly? Would struggle to make most amateur teams in the district...
gaz7
yep i was a wee bit disappointed tonight. all this development talk that goes on . what about trying to win all the time. we were getting beat 2-0 and no change in formation takes danny johnson off and same type of play. semple has the look and confidence to be a player but was far too deep. the young num 8 looked most determined to me . but as everyone says they are only young. morrison of hearts was stand out easily
Toxteth O'Grady
I've only got the two Irn Bru cup games earlier in the season to compare them to, but the team definitely appear to have regressed since then based on the evidence of tonight. I get that it is difficult to be overly critical of such a young side though. I agree it was disappointing we didn't really change to a more attacking formation after going behind. Big Wispy Flossy
Morrison basically ran amok for hearts down their right hand side. The young guys will play better no doubt, preventable goals trying to overplay from the back but they’ll learn. It was a young side and the younger players showed more than the ones with first team experience

Very different teams so I wouldn't compare to be honest.
Neilwell86
yeah very difficult to compare, those Irn Bru cup teams featured David Turnbull (against Sligo) Hastie, Mbulu, Maguire, James Scott, Rodriguez Gorrin (Ross County) Liam Brown ( not sure if he played last night)
Ross
I thought the only players who looked like they could be good enough were Jamie semple(20),yusuf hussain(5),dean cornelius and broque Watson Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Big Wispy Flossy
Livingstone was poor last night perhaps unfortunate as he was up against hearts best player in. Calum Morrison. But he’ll come up against better wingers if he features for the first team more frequently this or next season.
Kmcalpin
By the looks of things Hearts fielded a more experienced side than we did and that may have contributed to the outcome.
