weeyin
This is one of the difficulties of the new Reserve set up. Some teams with larger squads are using it to keep their more experienced players ticking over. Others are using it more like a replacement for the U20s teams. While it's good for our youngsters to compete against the older players, it does lead to some mismatches.
Big Wispy Flossy
We can’t complain of an unfair advantage when we have Ferguson, Donnelly and Johnson all playing. I believe these 3 are all older than anyone hearts fielded last night

They have great ability and potential, but the fact that Hearts were more experienced at First Team level, more physically strong, more cynical and more streetwise right through their side than those five made a massive difference. Those boys will do great in time but it would be unfair to them and the rest of the team to judge them under those circumstances.

I didn't go this match but it's disappointing that the SPFL and SFA changed the Youth Cup to u18 and replaced it with this shite format. And from what Craigan said, replaced it without even asking the opinion of any of the U20 coaches.

Their starting eleven had 189 Premiership appearances behind them compared to our 35. Edwards (112) and Morrison (25) as opposed to Donnelly (6) and Johnson (25). Their average age was about a year older than our lads. As others say its the system thats wrong.
