The African
Not sure that stability is a viable option in the modern football world. Three defeats and there will be people calling for your sacking. We must learn to survive in a state of constant flux. If players and managers look good, they move up the ladder, if they look crap, they get punted. Ideas such as loyalty are a thing of the past. To stay still in our ever changing environment is to take the chance of eventuallylooking crap for too long and facing the chop.

Just a pipe dream to think that we could have a successful manager that stayed around for a long time.
weeyin
Even the good ones end up being sacked for failing later - McCall for example. That's not a Motherwell thing, more of a football thing where it's difficult to sustain any level of success over a number of seasons. FirParkCornerExile
It really doesn't matter a fig, all managers times come and go, where he goes I care not a jot, he is then ex Motherwell and we move on as we always do.
Ya Bezzer!
The thing with managers in recent day Scottish football is that you don't have to be any good to have 'relative' success. If you have 10 dopes taking a maths exam one of them will still be top of the class. The jump up to English football level is colossal.
weeyin
Any success in any league is "relative". That's exactly how leagues work.
Fairhill
As long as the model is to find young players and then sell them on we'll never have ongoing success like the top teams have, and that impacts on attendance as well as budget. We'll never get the kind of money Celtic seem to get from transfers. It will always be season to season, and any comparison to Sir Alex at Man U makes no sense at all. Enjoy what we've had this season while we have it because we're all striving for 3rd place now that the OF are back.

Welldaft Mk1
Evening news reporting Robinson is favourite to take over based on nothing other than he has admirers at Tynecastle and has taken Well to 3rd on a much lower budget etc etc. Probably bullshit and I expect Jack Ross to be approached before Robinson
GazzyB
If Robinson goes I wouldn't be surprised to see McCall back if he's out of a job just now.

So he will still be there as Director of Football

Orinoco
Im sure i read on hearts forums, that quite a few dont think our manager is good enough for them. They think they should be attracting a big name!
couttsy
I see Robinson has gone from 18/1 to 5/2 with Skybet in the last hour and half or so.....
steelboy
Budge won't pay any compo so I don't see them going for Robinson.
Larkywell85
First time poster here. live in Edinburgh and guy I work with saw Robinson in gorgie today . thought he may have been visiting the assistant manager as he’s friends but hearing Levein has been sacked this could be why . grizzlyg
Yep paying compensation hopefully scares them off. I could see Hearts going a bit leftfield with maybe Scot Gemmill or possibly someone new like Darren Fletcher. Or ask the question to Davie Moyes,
couttsy
I think the opposite....in their predicament they’re more likely to go for tried and tested at this level.... Hopefully right that the compo scares them off. Think his contract is until 2022 so not likely to let him go on the cheap. Incidentally he’s now the 7/4 favourite with Skybet... real dosser
Surely they will go for the font of all football knowledge that is Michael Stewart especially as he is the main man for attacks on Levein since he became a"pundit"

Yorkyred
I actually think we could lose him, he won’t be turning the opportunity down if it comes, that’s for sure.
stv
Micheal Stewart says Im a perfect fit as he knows the club, knows all the footballing formations in the world, where the ball will be played to before it happens, can work a wee tv marker on screen, has media contacts and he has the sun shinning out his maroon arse hole. Hes a dead cert ......or so he thinks.
