Shotts Well Fan
It says a lot for our strength in depth when we have to bring on McIver and Seedorf both too lightweight for the SPL. Never looked like scoring from open play. My guess is we will finish bottom of the top 6. Very disappointing second half.Looked like we switched off in the second half and St Mirren were the stronger and more energetic team. We really miss a proper striker.
couttsy
So so much wrong I’m not sure where to start.....With the defence, Gallagher literally playing right back, why not Donnelly out there Gallagher in the middle of the 3 and Hartley (given he’s left footed) on the left. Then when Donnelly goes into midfield Tait moves to centre half but on the left not the right where he played so well against Saints in the 2nd half last week........ Midfield, Campbell and Polworth both terrible, if O’Hara is out as well as Donnelly in the next 2 games we’re in even more trouble. Going forward, why not even try swapping Aarons and Hylton at any point so that they’d be on the foot they kick with when they get to the bye line? F@cking even more raging with that tonight that I was last week. 180mins against Accies & St Mirren without a goal from open play. Just as well we have enough points to stay up.
Ya Bezzer!
The really worrying thing is 1 goal in open play in the last 6 league matches. Never looked like scoring tonight if it hadn't been for the penalty.
The African
Time for a few home truths? We are only third by default in a truly awful league. We have some half decent players, but are not a cohesive unit. We flatter to deceive with some pretty play but have no real punch and don't offer much of a goal threat. We cannot put a decent ninety minute performance together. We have a business plan based on selling on our best players, but currently look like we have little left that anyone would want to buy. Our lack of depth has led to us "overolaying" promising youngsters and probably stymied their development ( Cadden and now Campbell). on the plus side, on current form we would have been an embarrassment in Europe anyway and nice to see Turnbull back, even if rushing him into the match day squad has a look of desperation about it. Rant over.
steelboy
The inverted winger thing is utter stupidity at this point. Whoever was in charge of our transfer business in January. I'm sure we'll find out in an upcoming episode of the Longer Listen.....
wellwell91
If tonight proved anything ……… Hartleys finished at this level Why oh why is he playing in the middle of a back 3 ????? Slow as treacle and was bullied by the big number 9 Also get this playing with 2 wingers to feck having 1 sand dancer on the park is bad enough without having 2n Just beat your man ( never mind the 5 step overs ) and get the ball in
mfc
I genuinely believe we have blown it,we have hit the skids at the wrong time and there's nothing to suggest we are going to stop the slump and turn things around, confidence is completely gone and we seem hell bend on shooting ourselves, tonight and the st johnstone game should have been a minimum of two points,to keep things ticking over but yet we go and blow it by conceding goals right at the end.i really don't see where the next win is coming from and think our next 3 games could really end our hopes of finishing 3rd and most likely let 2 of the teams below to then go above us. grizzlyg
Just gets worse and worse. O'Hara going off didnt help and with Campbell and Polworth honking I fear he might now rush Turnbull back too soon. 11 corners first half and not coming close a joke and some advice for Hylton, see when you beat a man......don't try to best him another 5 times!!! Ya Bezzer!
We are still in the race for 3rd because every one else is as bad as we are. Look at Aberdeen's form if you don't believe me. We need to arrest this run very soon though.

gilmour
Time to drop gillespie too. He’s not sticking around and his distribution is way too slow and all over the place. time to give Carson a run as he the one who has signed the contract.
johnstone
10 points ahead of Killie in 7th and 15 points left to play for before the split. We have to think there will noT be enough of a swing for us to drop into 7th, so it’s just a case of trying to hang in there and then maybe once in the split we can still be in the hunt. As another poster said all the other teams are inconsistent and will take points of each other. The hope is that Turnbull coming back might inject some life into the team. I’m worried about Robinson though as he has the feel of an manager running out of ideas and there is a hint of desperation about what he is doing at the moment.
prideoflanarkshire
Taking a deep breath here, at the start of the season and someone offered us to be in 3rd with 10 games to go I would have took it. I think the manager has a lot to answer for. People out of position, player in the wrong positions, players on the park that shouldn’t be anywhere near our team. Struggling big time
Yodo
Poor recruitment in the summer and in January is coming back to bite us on the arse, some of the players we have aren't good enough to play at junior level . Hartley is finished and the middle of the park non existent a hutch full of wingers where one is as bad as the other we didn't look like scoring .If we don't beat Ross County next week then Robinsons position has to be looked at

Of course he blew hot and cold, but offered something we haven't been able to replace so far. We were just as frustratingly impotent and lacking up front against Hibs when he played a few days before the window closed and it was obvious to all almost all that a focal point was required up there. Ya Bezzer!
Just had a look. In our last 39 league matches were we started with 3 centre halves we've only won 9 of them. That's a 23% win ratio. What ever the answer is to our current problems we need to ditch 3 at the back pronto.

Carson will be back in starting line up next season anyway and hopefully back to the way he was

Wee Alpha
Throwing this one out there. Do you think opposition managers have done their homework and have our tactics well and trully sussed. We have had a good start to the season , carrying on with our passing game rather than the hoofball we witnessed in the first half of last season. Our season turned around last year in January ( with the youngsters 'playing' football) .It seems to be the polar opposite now since January this year. We seem to be a one trick pony and can't change things around. Are we a team of two halves, either a good start then fade away or a crap start and turn things around. Anyhoo could be worse , could be a Jambo fan !

Hardly helps. moat keepers are shot stoppers it’s their job but the really good ones can do other stuff. *edited typos

Hartley.. grimshaw..Polworth...hylton and even Campbell off form. When you have so many players not performing it is going to have adverse effect
MelvinBragg
Looking at the season as a whole, of course it's not been terrible. Problem is momentum. If a couple of the wins we had in the first half of the season had come in the last month, it wouldn't feel quite so grim as it does at the minute. Going into March, we haven't won a home league game since the 7th December. In the five home league games since then we've scored two goals, one of them a penalty. The majority of fans don't go to away games, so most of our support have not seen us win in nearly three months and have hardly seen us score a goal. A fair bit of negativity is to be expected. We may well finish in the top six but if our form doesn't pick up, will anyone relish seeing those final five games against the better teams? Financially good for the club, it may be but dispiriting to watch...

We're also 10 points ahead of St Johnstone but they have 18 points to play for prior to the split. They're on a decent run and Its hard to see where our next point is coming from. Agree about Robbo. He's met his objectives so far and so he is safe but he does seem to be running out of ideas. Many mistakes made by management tonight and they were costly. So we need to sort the problems soon and get a win or two ti get back on track .
