weeyin
Can some scientist not prove Covid lies dormant on plastic much longer than it does on grass so we can get rid of artificial surfaces? Health and Safety would seem an ideal to excuse to get rid.

Toxteth O'Grady
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54375702 Kilmarnock: Three more players test positive for Covid-19 leaving game in doubt Last updated on15 minutes ago15 minutes ago. From the sectionKilmarnock Kilmarnock won 1-0 at St Mirren last Saturday Three further Kilmarnock players have tested positive for Covid-19, taking the number of cases at the Scottish Premiership club to six. All six are self-isolating and Friday's Scottish Premiership visit of Motherwell is now in doubt. The SPFL are awaiting information from the Ayrshire and Arran Health Board's Test and Protect team before they "determine the implications". Earlier on Thursday, manager Alex Dyer said his squad were "in limbo". Kilmarnock report positive Covid-19 tests After three players had their positive tests from earlier in the week confirmed by the NHS, Kilmarnock were unable to train until the results of a fresh batch of tests on Thursday were known. Dyer said one of the initial three players felt unwell on Sunday after the victory at St Mirren the previous day and was not allowed to train. The other two have been asymptomatic. "We thought it was just a bug because of the changing of the weather then we found out three players tested positive," he explained. ''We won't feel sorry for ourselves - it's part of life. We'll train when we are allowed to and do all the things we can. If they let us play the game we'll do the best we can." The trio who returned positive tests on Thursday will now also have NHS tests. "The health and wellbeing of our players and staff remains paramount and we wish all those affected a speedy recovery," Kilmarnock said. I am not sure the protocol but as long as they have 13 fit players and a goalie the agreement is for the game to go ahead. If 6 are affected then that would leave enough players to play the game. GazzyB
We're 7/5 at the moment for those that like a punt, think it'll go down a bit as KO gets closer. Trebled us with Aberdeen and Hibs at 5/1.

As a well fan you should learn very early on that betting on us for anything other than the number of penalties we concede, is not to be recommended , hope it comes up though. Andy_P
If it is off, just wait until Killie tell all the PPV buyers that they need to go down to Rugby Park and give their details to a steward, be told three days later that, oh actually there isn't anything about refunds in the T&C's but how would you like to buy again for a fiver? 2

Ped_MFC
If they postpone the game will the PPV orders be replaced by one of Jim Goodwin's head exploding? That could be quite a show.

I fully accept that health comes first, but I would be hoping for a similar outcome when we inevitably have a handful of players with Covid19. A precedent has been set if this game is off. Decision will have been made on ground of containing an active outbreak rather than availability of players. I take it there would be no chance of being awarded a 3-0 win, could fucking do with it. Shaka
That is shocking if the game is off. All they need is 11 fit players out of a squad of 25-30 at least. Infact technically isnt it 8 minimum to start a match? If they are gonna start cancelling games for this, the season will never end Considering the lengths some other clubs have gone to with players out with covid, this is poor. Not a fan of Jim Goodwin but surely he is fucking raging, and rightly so

Kmcalpin
Yes it'll be interesting to hear the explanation if a full one is given. Surely it cannot be on footballing grounds? During the course of a normal season a few teams have had to play despite bugs ravaging their squads. Will this decision now set a precedent. There’s an expectation of more positive results from another round of testing at Kilmarnock with their entire squad in isolation.
Andy_P
Assuming there hasn't been any breaking of rules I'm inclined to be sympathetic with Kilmarnock, and indeed St Mirren. Easy to scream about how bad a decision it is and demand they forefeit but we've no idea if further down the line the same might happen to us, and potentially even more than once. So I wouldn't be too hasty in jumping in with that. There is some pretty mental scheduling going on in England - and I'm astounded by how many big names have been playing in their League Cup games, but the likes of Spurs with a Thu-Sun-Tue-Thu-Sun schedule does illustrate that it is possible, if not desirable to work in additional fixtures. parko66
Joint Response Group issue update on Kilmarnock In the past few minutes, the SPFL and SFA's Joint Response Group has released the following statement... "The Joint Response Group has received further information on the situation at Kilmarnock FC based on a meeting this morning led by NHS Ayrshire and Arran Public Health, and including representatives from the club, Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland and the Scottish FA. NHS Ayrshire & Arran Test and Protect Team carried out COVID-19 contact tracing following the six confirmed positive tests at the club. As a result, the club has been advised by the local Problem Assessment Group that the whole playing squad should self-isolate for a 14-day period. This is in order to minimise the risk of further cases in the staff group and wider local community and to support Test and Protect. The SPFL Board are meeting this afternoon to discuss the implications for Kilmarnock’s fixtures within that period and will issue a statement thereafter."
