He played Campbell off a striker quite often which sums up how he views football. I can remember a game where Barry Maguire started and Turnbull was on the bench. Watching that game last night it didn't feel like we were trying to get anything from it. The SFA coaches seem to think that they don't need to win games, just avoiding getting gubbed is ok.

I know only 18 but seriously I don't think it's a old firm bias but it is infuriating. Maguire used to play over Turnbull in the U21s set up. They just don't have a fucking clue.

The likes of Turnbull, Campbell, Miller, Doak, Morgan, and all the other so called u21's that are holding down regular starts for their clubs should be in the senior squad I stead of the constant stream of pseudo Scots we seem to get
steelboy
Barron, Conway and Johnston would have been better off playing against Spain last night than sitting on the bench for the Senior team on Thursday.

I make this point every cycle of international tournaments, if we play a full team of the best U21s we would qualify more regularly for the finals. We would then have a cohort of players who were used to going to summer finals if/when they emerge as full internationalists. I first noticed this when Stephen Pearson was withdrawn from an effective play off match for the U21s, which they lost, to sit on the bench for the full team, although my argument fell down a little as he got some game time. But there may have been more benefit overall if he had helped the U21 team qualify.

If I was Tommy Conway and I saw carthorse dykes get game ahead of him I would think what is the point?

Very true record of 0.2 goals per game playing his trade in league 1. Clarke has no clue.

steelboy
2 nil Scotland already. Assists for Wilson and Miller. Wilson put a great ball in from the bye line and Max Johnston forced the defender to score an OG. Lennon crossed a free kick very similar to SODs goal against Hearts for Dane Murray to head in. steelboy
5 nil to Scotland u21s. Lennon scored a good header for the fourth and crossed another great ball in for the fifth.

steelboy
Miller and Wilson are both in the u21 squad. Doig is back in the squad so Wilson probably won't start. It's impossible to predict what kind of team Gemmill will pick but it would be good to see Miller, Barron and Cameron as the starting midfield. If they win both games they should be straight into the finals. If they draw with Belgium and win in Kazakhstan it'll be a playoff.
grizzlyg
I think that is why Clarke has not put barron or Johnston in full squad as wants to give u21 every chance. Miller has to start
