We are really really pish at anything that involves the ball. Alexander persists with a formation that doesn't work and wastes the talents of the decent players we do have by playing them out of place and shoehorning players into positions beyond their capabilities. When we pick the ball up in midfield it's such a rush to go FORWARD that if we just slowed it down a little and played a sideways pass or two it'd allow the front three (who have tucked in) to get forward and actually give us an option. Grimshaw has been murder, and that first half performance from Shields is a perfect example of why the First Division isn't an absolute goldmine for talent like people seem to think. O'Hara on for Grimshaw and KVV on for Shields at half time would be ideal, instead we won't see that, we'll go 1-0 down after 60 minutes and make changes around 80 minutes and scrape a draw if we're lucky. Practically a 7 man defence for the whole of the first half. 25yards from midfield to front line. No hope of winna second ball or joining the forwards if they manage to hold it.
