orange county dosser
just read that Buzz might be about to sign a pre contract with Hibs !! FULL STORY HERE thoughts ???
Andy_P
Perhaps. But then you tend to give reports like that a little less credence when there are no quotes and they begin to suggest alternatives without it apparently dawning on them that we have already signed another keeper ourselves on a pre-contract. Wellfan1984
If true I would have thought Buzz was smarter than he is showing. He is going to a club in turmoil, a club who's manager will be lucky to see next season.
East_Stand_Al
I think its obviously a slow news day, TBH if the news of the world rolled a story saying tomorrow is Monday I'd go and check the calender. Why would anyone take a step back like that ?
GazzyB
I know this probably would have no impact on his decision at the end of the day, but is he not a big Hearts fan?
Motherwell Football Club
But Szamotulski has yet to convince he is yet to convince fans he is the long term answer to their goalie woes. Thats all I read before concluding a blind goose typed this.

Aye he's a boyhood Jambo. But then again so is Gordon Marshall

With a young family now at his age he would be looking for more security. Cant argue with that to be honest, at least he isnt whoring himself around the meedja. Neil
No quotes, so perhaps his agent trying to drum up a bit of interest/force some hands?
Deaddogman
Aye he's a boyhood Jambo. But then again so is Gordon Marshall A Jambo friend of mine, reckons he talks to Buzz and his dad in the local at Loanhead and he reckons that buzz is a stick on for hearts
postiejim
Buzz can go as far as I'm concerned ,the guy is a decent keeper but his game has some real weaknesses .
Neil
Show me an SPL keeper- hell, any keeper in the world- that doesn't.
Rickoza
Wouldn't be a step up for Buzz if he did. Certainly not.
Well_Jaggy
I reckon the NOTW uses the news generator app that runs in Footie manager.
Yabba's Turd
Wouldn't be a step up for Buzz if he did. Certainly not. It would be for his bank account though, can't argue with that, he's never going to a big team so at best he'll go where he can get a better deal than we can offer. i.e.- half the SPL
Rickoza
I'd agree with that, guess if that's what matters most then that's what it'll be.
Motherwell Football Club
How can he not be at a big team? If he had a solid defence he would look as good as Casillas.
Ben_MonTheWell
Don't see why he should go to hibs, hes a jambo fan from a young age, plus hibs have a whole range of keepers to choose from, szamatolski is a good keeper, maka is fine on his day and mcneil is still young and perhaps learning his trade
another number
Can't argue with the fact he'd probably get paid more at Hibs, but I don't see going to another SPL team to be a good move for him really. But that said, as folk have said, he has a young family and if he wants to stay in Scotland you can't really blame him for looking for more money, I just wouldn't like to see him go somewhere as a number 2. He seems to thrive on getting his confidence from being in the team and I don't think he'd improve any as a number 2.
WellArmy_88
Difenetly not a career move, so probably a money move. Can't really argue with a young child and family, a move to england could be up setting, so the temptation of more money and staying in scotland has more of an advantage. Wellfan1984
Can someone tell me how a move to England can be upsetting? It's not really a cultural change is it! That just gives weight to the whole Maloney was home sick bull shit. Although I can understand not wanting to move to England because he wanted his son to be brought up/schooled in Scotland but I can't see how it could be upsetting. Hell, I'm an Army Brat was moving around often and it didn't do me any harm... I think....
fat_tony
A Jambo friend of mine, reckons he talks to Buzz and his dad in the local at Loanhead and he reckons that buzz is a stick on for hearts That would certainly make a lot more sense to me. I still think Buzz is just waiting to see what the situation is at the end of the season and weigh up what his options are. Anyone coming to the end of a contract is perfectly entitled to do the same. Don't get me wrong, I hope he stays as he's a brilliant shot stopper and has really improved other aspects of his game this season but if he does move on then he's perfectly entitled to. Strange surroundings, away from family and friends, wife/girlfriend stuck at home with the kids while the player is away preparing for or playing games. Not everybody can adapt to change easily. Look at Stevie Hammell as a prime example. He knew his family weren't as happy as they should be so he brought them home.
El Grew
Some typically sensationalist tripe from a sensationalist tripe comic book. Its common knowledge that Smith is more than likely to want to move at the end of the season. Have we not signed the ICT keeper on a pre-contract deal? This would appear to suggest that MM has already prepared for Smith exiting at the end of the season and destroys their theory that Smith going to Hibs stunning MM and our showing interest in Howard from St Mirren. A non-story if ever there was one. Yawn!!!!!!!!!
Welldel
No harm to him and he has been great for us at times, but he isn't exactly irreplaceable. Any chance of us getting another keeper who can collect cross balls and command the penalty area
