I think your post is very good however I think you are perhaps being a bit previous on Morris.

Given he's only had 3 games and come in at a terrible time you're right, Morris will need some time.

Compared him to Goss as a left midfielder with a bit of skill. FWIW I rate Goss, I think he's a lot to offer as long as we don't expect him to track back , win second balls etc.

Morris for me is a strange signing, someone who's kicked around the English 4th tier for +10 years without doing much.  GA signed a few people like that, people he knew, brought into the club and often didn't even play them but he knew he could work with them.

Hopefully Morris  can kick on and add value to the team.

Stats are great things that can be used to make any case/statement. What was KVV stats and how do our guys compare with similar guys in the rest of the league?

Looking at Tony Watt he played 75 minutes and had 20 final third involvements which is 4 more than Morris, Shields and Efford managed in a combined 180 minutes.

For Watt it's 5 crosses (1 leading to a chance), 4 forward passes, 6 backward passes, 1 shot and he lost it 4 times.

The new guy Sims for Ross County had 10 involvements in the final third in 64 minutes. 2 shots. 3 forward passes. 3 backwards passes and 2 crosses (creating 2 chances). He didn't lose the ball at all in his time on the park which is impressive.

There is no doubt that our two weakest areas at the moment are the holding midfield role and the wide attacking roles. Even if we change from a 4-3-3 with the new manager those are still the areas that need addressed.

Ffs What a lot of meaningless irrelevant drivel what's alleged striker Tony Watt and the guy sims from RC got to do with improving our midfield or lack of wide players.

Wow, this is starting to get technical. What did they have for lunch before the games.

Stuwell asked for something to compare our players performances too.

By looking at other players you can see that it's not just that they didn't produce much but they were barely involved in the game.

Reading the posts concerning our midfield in getting forward and supporting the front players and contributing to our goal tally.

Career Stats

Slattery 23 years old. 147 games. 18 goals. This includes 4 for Southampton U18 and 11 for Southampton B team. If you just count senior football his stats are 52 Games 3 goals

Goss  26 years old. 134 games. 10 goals.

Spittal 26 years old. 337 games.  56 goals.

McGuire 24 years old. 83 games.  3 goals.

Cornelius 21 years old. 18 games. 2 goals.

Tierney 21 years old. 88 games goals 15 goals

Midfielders have played a total of 713 games, scoring 89 goals. Spittal has 56 of them.

Underperformers as regards goals are Slattery, Goss and McGuire. Also Slattery has only played 52 first team games. Goss at 26 has only played 134 games. Compare with Spittal who is the same age. This would indicate that Goss has never been first choice at any of his clubs.

Given Slattery, Goss and McGuires lack of goals it was Watt and Van Veens goals that stopped us being in a relegation battle last season. Our only hope is if Spittal settles in he can get goals along with maybe Tierney.  If not it will definitely be a long long season.

I also asked for KVV stats which you ignored so I went to the site you quoted from and from what I can see, offensively he had 1 shot, 2 dribbles, dispossessed twice, 1 bad control and no key passes, no crosses or through balls and 1 long ball. Not really any better than Morris or Shields but that fact doesn’t fit your POV.
As for other teams strikers I had a look at Hibs Who dominated against StJohnstone and Chris Cadden played 77minutes, offensively only has twice dispossessed  and three bad control, 1 cross and 3 long balls.
On the St J side, Jamie Murphy 61 minutes played 1 shot, dispossessed once, bad control once and one cross.
