Im personally not trying to push anyones concerns aside - and I never have. I could say more but Im not sure I'd express what I want to say well so I'll leave it at that

I was not referring to you, But my reading is that some are pretty adept at focusing away from what we currently see by focusing on issues that SK cannot really influence. I am looking for him to influence those areas he can control.

100%, all most of us want him to do is manage the team he has available to him, change his style to suit what’s available and effect in game management of situations that arise during the game.

Take each game one at a time during this injury crisis and stop sticking to the same game plan he’d use if he had a full fit team because it ain’t working.

If he sticks religiously to what he’s doing and we stay up by the skin of our teeth - which is no way a given at this moment - I’d be tempted to say goodbye and thanks for your efforts but it’s time for a change.

To put things in perspective, I was talking to Joewarkthelegend earlier in the week. We've both been going to Fir Park for decades and we agreed that last Saturday's cup performance was the worst we'd witnessed for many many years. That's how poor it was.

We're hoping for changes this Saturday, but above all, a change in attitude both on and off the pitch.

Saturday was woeful, but Raith under Hammell was the all time worst for me. Albion Rovers under McCall and Ayr Utd under Kampmann (I think, Greg Denham was playing) definitely up there too.

Add the Inverness game to that.........but a 48 hour decision to sell coyle was brutal

No doubt Wee Tommy would have found it tough in the current circumstances.

He struggled back then. There were several occassions of protests and chants of "Tommy, Tommy get tae f..k" were heard. Banners also appeared in the East Stand calling for his head.

We will at least have seen evidence of a Manager that is willing to change things up after some woeful performances. Not one or two woeful performances but too many over the season, including that pathetic cup SF. For some that willingness to change will be a step forward. Might even be enough for those that want to support Kettlewell but currently have serious doubts. Like me.

Despite what is promoted on here by some, although a few have been irrationally anti Kettlewell from day one, not everybody wants SK out as of now.  But what the false narrative does is deflect from what has been evident for some time and came to a head in Perth. Throw in the injury situation, league position, the youth of some players, officiating, even Graeme Alexander to the discussion and the current issues that are concerning folk are pushed aside. Deliberately or otherwise. History is history and cannot be changed. Where we are headed is the point.

On Saturday, yet again, we saw a passive beginning handing the initiative to our opponents. Yet again we saw a formation and approach that exposed the weaknesses of certain players as they are asked to play roles for which they are not suited. Yet again we saw substitutions that had no effect and we saw little leadership on and off the pitch.  Even more worrying, for the first time this season we saw numerous players arguing with each other, questioning Managerial decisions, showing less than 100% commitment, hiding when teammates needed a get out ball,  and a bunch of players being told to F@@@ Off when they approached fans at the end of the game. Fans who have supported them through good and bad, Bois included. And not in small numbers.

So in response to your question, I do not know what happens if we change and lose. That could well happen.

I do know for sure that if we witness no change and lose, then things will become even more toxic. What fans are desperate to see is a willingness by SK to adapt our approach, send out a team in a formation that at the very least gives us the hope of a win. The players for their part need to show the unity, energy and belief that has been evident in some recent home matches.

I was shocked....but not really that surprised.....by the reaction at full time in Perth. SK, his coaching staff and the players also looked stunned. Hopefully that will have opened a few eyes within the Club and we reset our season starting Saturday. Surely we cannot continue as we are? It's not too late and we can still have a good season. But fans need to regain hope and belief. SK has a huge part to play in that. It won't be easy

Excellent post.

My feelings exactly!

They've been shouting for managers head since I can remember starting with wullie McLean ( Tommy's brother) and it's been that way ever since , just now we've got social media.

Interesting interview.

My takeaway is the lady's not for turning.

What I found interesting is SK refers to different approaches to different matches , reading this outlines how we adapt to the opposition each week and consider conditions , pitch, opposition.

Also that last year we had plaudits for our style of play during the 15 game run without winning re possession entertainment etc.

Some of that is less obvious to me as simple man on the street who cares about my club. It's  lost of me how we adapt each week and I don't remember playing amazing footy during our poor patch last year - I more remember the togetherness and work ethic of the team.

Overall a bit more empathy towards the paying fan would be welcome.

That being said facts are we're 9 points better than this point last season and time will tell if we end up 9 points better by the end of the season.

The way he refers to his style of football that led to that run of 15 games without a win as some sort of achievement to be referenced in the context of this season is ridiculous. He appears to be as stubborn as they come and more worryingly he has started to become a bit patronising towards the fans and their justified views. Unfortunately for me, that sneering tone throughout the article undoes any of the valid points he tries to make. The clock is ticking faster now.

LOL no we don't and if he sees that I think we're in more trouble than I thought we were.

We should not be surprised when he starts with 5 at the back and 2 midfielders against St Johnstone again this weekend.

As someone who has defended SK through thick and thin last season and this, I find the tone of that interview pretty disrespectful (despite the lengths he has gone to to assure me it is not!)

Just because I havent played football at any decent level doesnt mean I cant see whats in front of my own eyes or offer an opinion on where we are going wrong.

If that was the case Jose Mourihno shouldnt have beenany good as a football manager.

Most of our fans are NOT knee jerk. The vocal minority maybe. But I think most fans (in the stands at least) have been pretty patient with the manager and the team EXACTLY because of the difficult circumstances we have encountered this season.

That doesnt cover over the further mistakes we believe are being made in tactics, team selection, in game management etc. He could and should be making better use of the players available by using tactics and formations that get the best out of everyone.

Im not buying for a minute that we have used a vast array of tactical options this season. It has been mostly sit tight, allow the opposition possession, absorb pressure until they make a mistake and try and counter.

He is increasingly coming across as a manager under pressure and has utterly disrespected the view of the nearly 2k Motherwell fans who were in Perth last weekend.

If he really does double down this weekend and go with more of the same, he better hope the players are able to dig out a win for him.

Adapt or die. Its the first law of survival.

You’ve echoed my above opinion on his tone here.

The man doth protest too much, methinks.

Tick-tock.

Doesn't come across very well in this interview tbh sounds a bit of a rocket.

Kettlewell says" Because I think there's a lot of experts out there and a lot of people that know better than the folk that have actually walked in the shoes and experienced it. Trials and tribulations."

Nope some of us have watched football for 20,30,40 even longer years we might not have got to that level as you say but we know and have seen  certain formations are not working but you continue with bs tactics.

You win some you lose some yep we get it however you should at least have a go to to try and get the win some part.

Fair play making comments like that when the season’s over and we’re sitting comfortably but in our current form I can only see this adding more pressure onto his back if (when?) we lose on Saturday.

Exactly.

He just told everyone who was in Perth last week that their opinion doesnt matter to him as they never played the game.

Talk about pouring oil on the fire!
