Im usually pretty positive about new signings but his figures are 53 goals in 257 appearances.

Im hoping we can get more than a goal every 5 games from him or we are looking at 7/8 goals for the season.

To be fair KVV's stats werent exactly inspiring, so happy to wait and see what the big man has in his locker........

First new signing in the door today.

Just remember, even if we're not being "linked" to anyone by lazy journalists doesn't mean the management team isn't working away and getting things done quietly.

It amazes me how many Motherwell fans get their knickers in a twist because we don't sign players early. We rarely do , the contracts we can offer will not have players jumping at them until they have checked all their options. There was never a likihood that we wouldnt sign players.

Michael Higdons rate was one in every 5 games before he came to us.

Couldn't agree a fee with Beith apparently, gone are the days when you could pick a player up from the old Juniors for a set of strips and some training balls.

The boy has some potential but I wouldnt be forking out any serious dosh for him.

OTF alluded to the fact if we did sign him he would probably be put out on loan so was never going to be in the first team squad anytime soon.

KVV had scored more than 100 goals before coming to us.   He had more pedigree and better ratio than most strikers we've signed.

That said Wilkinson has a better goal ratio than any of our current strikers so certainly an improvement.

As I have said before, every striker we sign, with a couple of exceptions ie Skippy and Faddy the 2nd time round is a punt, Wilkinson will be no different.

Time will tell if its a good or bad signing any previous stats are irrelevant,  so let's wait and see how he performs before judging him.

Given that he couldn't get a game for Walsall for most of last season he's likely another Mandron.

Not encouraging.

That was more down to injury than not being good enough.

He suffered a torrid time with injuries at Walsall, which could be a concern not only physically but mentally too - fingers crossed he's over the worse

He's obviously being hawked around by some party. A young man in a hurry. I suspect that Beith are far from being a wee amateurish (in the loosest possible sense) junior club.

Tom Aldred wasn't wanted at Bury. Scott McDonald had one foot on the boat back to Australia. Kipre was second choice of the trialists. We've got the best out of any number of players that didn't fit in anywhere else. Is he a sure thing? Nope, but I'm struggling to remember the last 'sure thing' we signed..
