But yes on a serious note just why would anyone at the club sign off on this? Or is this our latest ploy to show how “skint” we are that we had to acquire a batch of 22/23 Dundee Utd macron training kits and stick our badge on them? I've heard if we get relegated under fan ownership we'll have to wear green.

Taken in conjunction with yesterday's announcement, look out for missing plot posters going up on lamp posts around Fir Park.

After a proper Motherwell kit last season we must be due for something nonsensical again. Have to say that this is one of my concerns. We reverted to a traditional jersey despite some claims on here that this was not possible because of some Euro-regulation regarding clarity of design which virtually outlawed the hoop. Frankly I'm expecting change for change sake and so probably a worse design for the coming season. I really hope I'm proved wrong. And does anyone know when we can expect the new one? Probs when we all come back from our holidays.....

Probs when we all come back from our holidays..... I’m sure it was around the end of June last year that our new home kit was revealed so will probably be the same this year or thereabouts. Nothing would surprise me. We just seem obsessed with “doing something different” so who knows what we’ll get. I know some argue that it doesn’t matter what strip we play in but it does to me. I want to see us make the most of our own fairly unique colours. We should embrace them and the identity that they give us but instead we keep messing about with them all too often. Quite right but I think that may have influenced the reduction of the hoop to a bar at the front of the jersey, despite the fact we were unlikely to compete in the later stages of any European competition. MJC
The club have confirmed that Fire Suppression Scotland will be our new back of shirt sponsor along with a picture of the words on the back of a kit, don’t know if it’s just last seasons kit or the new one but if it is then it’s promisingly Amber. Yes, you can see the full story here: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Motherwell/Motherwell.htm I rather like the black socks with c&a turn-overs from the early 50s but I don't think they'll make a comeback, unfortunately. Bring back the 1927-28 kit, that's a belter a proper footie top, oh and white shorts not black.

Yes, back when we pretty much copied Bradford City's jerseys until we introduced the hoop a few seasons later. It's a great strip that but BC have been guilty of producing some pretty horrible strip designs when they could have stuck with that one with a few adjustments from time to time. Mind you, you could say the same about us 😱.
