FFS don’t think we are scoring today

Think that’s glaringly obvious. We could play until midnight and not score.

SK has done a very good job for us but his summer transfer business has fallen badly short when it comes to signing forward players and today that is painfully evident.

A tough watch and a non deserved defeat. We were the better team and played better football and had the majority of the game. Just missing a bit of creation and ended up with just hopeful crosses into the box which were food and drink to the st mirren defence.

still sitting 3rd… on to the next game

Are we just ignoring Biereth?

Hardly SK's fault he is unavailable to us.

His replacement Shaw is not long in the door and has had a couple of cameos from the bench. Bit early to be writing him off.

Signing Obika is up for criticism based purely on his injury record and there hasnt been much from Wilkinson to give encouragement. But based on his previous career / stats, he wasnt disimilar to KVV.

Bair is the one that everyone was thinking WTF, but honestly, he has been way better than I thought he was going to be. Nothing startling but a big honest laddie that will run about and try to create space for others to fill.

Todays result isnt really a surprise given our injury woes and McGinns suspension.

The fact that we were able to still put in a decent performance and just couldnt take our chances is what is frustrating.

I think once everyone is back fit we will be in a strong position. Just need to try and grind out a few results until then.

The next two weeks will be tough assignments.

Disappointing result especially with some tough looking fixtures coming up.

We were easy on the eye but didn't really carry enough threat.

Only really created one chance in the first half and two in the second and obviously didn't take any of them.

Full backs don't really offer anything going forward and Bair was isolated a lot of the time.  I've never liked Motherwell playing one up front and still don't.

Zipped the ball around well and didn't deserve to lose but at the end of the day the game is about putting it in the net and we didn't really look like doing it today.

Felt a bit sorry for Oli Shaw as he was literally just on the pitch when the chance fell to him.  Maybe 5 minutes later he puts it away.

One of those ones where you just have to take it on the chin.

Obviously we can’t blame SK for Biereth (well done to everyone who booed Dunne today btw) but signing a player who had scored one goal all season and was ridiculed by St.Johnstone fans last season was madness. Obviously every signing we make is a gamble but at least try and stack the odds in your favour. The same could be said for re-signing a 32 year old Jon Obika who we knew was injury prone.

Just back in a feckin travesty of a result today, we played well and created enough chances to win 3 games, the one off the bar was unlucky but Shaw and Bair should both have scored with their chances, bad misses from both.

As for St Mirren what a shower of dirty fouling bastards they are, 5 booked God knows how many fouls committed and they get lucky with their goal 2 shots on target and one goes in.

Still 1st defeat of the season and still sitting 3rd its still a decent start.

St Mirren were well organised , fouled at every opportunity and got behind the ball to stop us in front of goal, they played well for 15 minutes in the second half and scored. We played nice and missed our chances. We still desreved at least a point tho.
But starting to moan about the quality of signings again after our first league defeat is pretty pants after all we are still third.

Pipe down, you. He runs about a lot and tries hard. That's what really matters 😂

We can criticize and bemoan our lack of scoring power but we are a much better football team than we have been for some time. I am looking forward to a good season and while we will most certainly miss KVV I think when we have some of our injured players return perhaps even before then we are going to win more games than we loose

Hard lines today. I thought we played really well in spells and largely controlled the 2nd half. There’s few games we don’t score in but the absence of 3 strikers is obviously going to cost us as times. Hopefully Wilkinson is back by the start of the October.

The bench was very inexperienced today and whilst I’m pleased to see the club significantly reduce our staff costs this summer, we could be in for a lean spell on the pitch at some point this season. Particularly if Spittal, Slattery and Miller run out of juice, which feels kinda inevitable.

In the meantime though, we have a team that is good to watch and we have little to fear going to Ibrox next week. McGinn for Blaney should be the only change.

Obviously the tactics for St Midden today was to kick the s**t out of Lennon Miller. They had 17 fouls and I would guess as least 8 of them were on Miller. Then after they got the goal the time wasting started in earnest. How they got away with 3 points is a mystery.

Just the usual Robinson scumbag tactics.

His knock downs, lay offs and general hold up play was excellent today. We played some tidy stuff but sadly we lacked the cutting edge required. Said before the game that the first goal would be critical. Robinson's teams are great at getting their noses in front then shutting up shop and defending for their lives. That said, the fact they've beaten us twice now this season without conceding is though to take.
