What is his injury?  I thought it was like a groin strain which may possibly mean he wasn’t really ready to go yet. (Could mean that but also might not). On the other hand, if he went over on his ankle or something like that, I’d say, for sure, the staff are blame free.

Nah, quad injury. I've had these injuries before and they can come along at random despite being fit and ready.

If he was carrying any kind of injury and the medical staff green lit his participation then serious questions need to be asked of the medical team. I really doubt that was the case though.

We need to remember that football is a physical sport. Injuries can happen, and they can happen for any reason.

Some on here would moan about him if he won a League and Cup double.

They would also blame him if a player injured himself running his car up a lamp post on Airbles Road.

Correct and had we not fluked our way into the top six he would have been gone at the end of that season. As it was we weren’t going to sack a manager who’d got us top since and Europe and he wasn’t going to walk unless a better offer came in. We then had the Sligo shambles and a parting of the ways was the only reasonable outcome for both parties.

Stephen Robinson wasn’t without his faults and some of his teams played dreadful stuff too but I’d take him over Graham Alexander any day of the week.

Stephen Robinson got us to two cup finals in a season losing to Celtic both times. He also had us in 3rd place when the league was terminated due to coronavirus.

You only have to look back at the threads at that time to see that a minority of the support were moaning about him then. I think the word imposter was a favourite back then too.

We will never, ever get a manager that will satisfy that minority of our support. I am sure that every team has them.

I suffered like most watching us under Alexander. But last I checked you earned your place  based on total points won. So to say he fluked top six is just making things up for effect. He got there through his approach, which proved successful until other Managers sussed him out. He earned top six and to say otherwise insults him and our players. Did you celebrate when we achieved top half?

I wanted Alexander gone, but based on what I was watching on the pitch and based on his refusal to change things up when needed. His time was up. Football had become a chore and matches were attended through loyalty rather than anticipation. But he did achieve results for a while.

I agree re Robinson though.

We won one, perhaps two league games between the January and the split that season and when 0-2 down at Livingston we’re heading for bottom six until we scraped a last gasp leveller and other results going our way over several weeks helped our cause no end. It was a fluke, no two ways about it. If anything the credit should go to Tony Watt for his goals in the first half of 21/22 otherwise we would have been in relegation trouble never mind in with a shout of top six.

The final league position you end up in over 38 games is no fluke it's what you have earned points wise the table never lies, so its either top and champions, bottom and relegated or somewhere in between.

We earned enough points that season to be in with a shout of the top 6 in our own hands going into that final game at Livingston, so no need for favours from other teams. And by not getting beat, earning a point we got a shot at Europe.

So it was no fluke we earned that league finish.
