Great news.

1. He seems like a genuine hard-working leader.

2. The next manager won't be Richard Foster now.

I thought he was retired when he signed for us, other than the equaliser at Parkhead he has contributed feck all.

I hope he's a better coach than player, he should call Stevie Woods and ask him how he's managed it.

I think that's quite harsh to be fair. It's clear that injury has hampered him. It's also clear that he knows it and isn't trying to play on

Tough audience.

His injury record was well known before we signed him, so it should never have happened, hes contributed feck all.

He has been getting pelters on here on a regular basis, now it's awww poor John he's had to retire, as i said he's been retired since he signed.

Only my opinion, maybe harsh but very fair. 12 clubs over 16 years and only 86 goals in total, just over 5 goals a year average ie he's not very good.

By being a better coach than a player, probably, which would hardly be a first.

I've never given him pelters and I don't agree with you. Feck all? That's not the case. So people aren't supposed to wish someone well because they've retired due to recurring injuries?

We’ll be pipped at the post all summer. Get used to it.

I don't know about this particular case, but if we don't attract some additional investment from some source then this will become increasingly common. The likes of Ross County and St Johnstone  and maybe even Dunfermline and Falkirk will be pipping us to signing targets.

Some fans don't want investment. They've been at pains to say everything is fine as it is.

We clearly can't compete with other clubs who have more cash to spend but that is what it is.

Dundee United fans seem to think we were in for a left back Will Ferry from Cheltenham but they've beaten us to him.

Rumours really don't mean very much in the scheme of things to be fair

For a club thats always pleading poverty we create some amount of backroom jobs, if someone left fair enough but if not the money cold have be better spent.

Some players have left. Liam Kelly. Our highest paid player by all accounts. Calum Butcher.

I wouldnt be expecting the playing budget to be sacrificed for a back room wage if a backroom member of staff hasnt left, that's my very point.

Obika had an option for another year after this one... Which obviously wasn't taken up. So potentially the club hasn't gone over budget signing him as a coach

Am sure someone wiser than me will rock up shortly to tell me I'm wrong though

The status quo will eventually see us drop into the Championship. Investment - beyond what we're used to from the Well Society to keep us afloat - is the only way we'll be able to compete with those you mention.

Im not sure I agree with the dropping into the championship part. But. Anyone who thinks we can carry on as we are and knock back the possibilities of outside investment is deluding themselves in my view.
