I was concerned we wouldn't win two games in Glasgow on the bounce. When Ferguson hit the bar in the first semi I thought that was our chance gone. Thankfully, I was proved very wrong. This. I was confident we would beat them in the first semi, but was convinced we were in for a bad night on the second one. That night, as anyone who was there will remember was on pishy horrible wet night. I got held up at work, then just after picking the mrs up, some dick ran into me, puncturing a tyre, which I had to change (in a suit) in the pishing rain. Went to pick my old man up to take him and he didn't want to go. Finally persuaded him and got in just before kick off, as as most will remember the first 5/10 mins was a fucking nightmare. I was in a foul mood and could cheerfully have left when they scored their second. Glad I stayed though. Have to say, that was one of the best nights ever at the footie. I enjoyed that more than the final, which was just toooooo tense. I'd seen us lose multiple semis, starting with the '75/6 debacle with Rangers. To finally see us win at Hampden against either of the arse cheeks was a 'Well fans dream come true.

The whole 'Celtic don't lose replays' chat was heavy in the air that week, the football for our 2nd goal was tremendous, obviously Psycho's screamer was the talking point, Celtic couldn't deal with us and it was fucking brilliant, bus lost all it's windows on the way back, nobody gave a shit 1

I was right behind the goals, quite low down and I couldn't see Dougie at the second goal. A good ball played in and the next thing, the ball was nestling in the back of the net. Absolute scenes. Psycho's goal was just out of this world. I said to my old man at the time and watching it back confirms this. When that goal went in, if you look at the Celtic players, it looks like someone has run round and stuck a pin in them all. They all just instantly deflated. Kirkie's goal was the icing on the icing. I remember at the time that it seemed to take an age for the ref to actually give it, but watching it back, it's only 2 or 3 seconds. Those last few mins, knowing that the game was in the bag are the best feeling i've ever had as a football fan. Even my old man, who was quite elderly at the time, was bouncing up and down, singing and hugging random cunts ! What a feeling that was !

The Daily Telegraph's John Percy, who was one of a number of reporters who were "accused of being in league with his former employers" for questioning decisions Davies made, said that Davies was "destined for failure" because he was "obsessed" with conspiracies and hidden agendas. There’s been many people associated to him who have said this throughout his career, notable people have said this and not just faceless internet posts. So I do think there’s weight to it. it is a shame he’s out the game but he’s not the only one, the football scrap heap is a big one for managers on the wrong side of 60. Very good team did not like this kit Fun season after a couple of really poor ones. Also loved that kit, but as I mentioned in the other thread, since I started following the team in 1970, we only had a hoop for one season prior to this, so design-wise it wasn't unusual. A little yellow, but nowhere near as yellow as the old Admiral one. Plus I do like an Adidas shirt.

Anyone who wanted this absolute clown back is borderline insane. His brother in law was a decent player, to be fair, but his brother was gash and should never have worn a Motherwell shirt. He also had Tommy Sheridan training with us. WTF was that all about ? The club became a plaything for him and his pals, using a naïve lunatic's money. I don't believe any Well fan genuinely would have wanted to see Billy Davies back as manager I did say last week light heartedly someone give the guy a job , not that I think he would do good . Team like Dunfermline potentially before they appointed Lennon is more his level I do enjoy listening to his interviews at times though partly for comedy purposes, there is no doubting he has been out the game so long for a reason When he suggested he would work at Rangers for free couple of seasons back it smacked of desperation a bit
