MJC
1-1 with a late equaliser to get us a point we scarcely deserve after County miss some guilt edged chances and we create next to nothing for 80 minutes with our lone striker completely isolated again.

Its not a must win game but I hear what you're saying. Lose this and we have a difficult run coming up and we don't want to get isolated at the bottom. One thing is for sure we can't afford to go with the same set up and personnel as we did yesterday. One striker or 2 strikers playing a distance apart just doesn't work with the players we have. Injuries too will dictate what personnel we have at our disposal. In defence, I'd be happy with either of our 2 choices in goal. The defence in front of them must change but SK seems to have limited his scope to do so. How fit are Balmer, McGinn, Kaleta and Seddon given their limited gametime so far? Neither of our 2 wingbacks yesterday seem to have the pace to play in the role they're being asked to do. Wilson is young granted, but I don't know if he's progressed much in the last year. Midfield is a huge huge issue, with injuries not helping at all. We don't have a competitive defensive shield and badly lack creativity and pace. Dylan Wells looks very promising but is a little out of his depth at the moment and we can't ask too much of him at this stage. Our only hope is that the likes of Sparrow, Callachan and Nicholson regain fitness but how fit will they be? In the coming days, SK must adapt his set up to accommodate the players at his disposal. He's becoming very Gannonesque in terms of his philosophy!
steelboy
I don't think Sparrow is unfit. He looked miles out his depth in the friendly against Livi.

We desperately need a fit Balmer and McGinn, as Casey and Blaney in the same defence is our weak spot, which we already knew. I don't think Kaleta is the answer to our RWB conundrum yet. On yesterday's showing, it wasn't that he looked unfit or unskilled, but that he looked completely lost. It was almost embarrassing to watch. At one point, it appeared that SOD gave up passing to him or expecting runs from him. Lot's of positional holes appeared when he came on. And he also kept wandering about random areas of the pitch during set plays instead of putting himself in the zones that his position is meant to occupy, particularly during our corners. I'm not blaming him for this at all, as he's clearly not ready yet and his coming on as a sub was probably not planned for, but I would hope he can be coached into something useful before he's utilised again. Wilson has the attributes and just needs to start battering down the wing and taking players on. He's also got the strength to be a good defensive wingback. This is his chance and if he doesn't take it, he'll be back down the pecking order, unfortunately.

Agree with this, was hoping that he would be able to bomb up and down the wing after SK's remarks the other day. He might have the athleticism but he's still very raw and can't see him being used much until November-ish like with Gent last year

I was impressed at points with how he looked up and tried to get Moses in behind. He played a great ball round their defence that was just slightly over hit, that was probably one of our better attempts at a forward pass like that for the whole game. There's definitely something there but I agree with you and @wellfan; he reminds me a bit of Gent last season. He'll probably be introduced slowly and start to stake a claim around October/November. grizzlyg
What we need on Saturday is the home support getting right behind the team. Opening league game so if fans start getting on players backs after 20 mins it plays right into Ross Co hands. I see new guy in stand yesterday so would be great if he could at least make the bench

Mad Dog
McGinn, Kaleta and Sparrow all played an hour for the B team. Looks like Luca Ross will miss the game, possibly concussed as he had to go off after a clash of heads.

grizzlyg
Hope everyone is up for tomorrow and can create a great atmosphere, opening league game and bizarrely only Saturda 3.00ko in SPFL. No idea what SK will come up with but if me I would go with Ox McGinn. Gordon. Balmer SOD. Seddon Davor. Halliday. Miller Robinson. Moses Wilson could also easily start at LWB and I know folk will be horrified I have picked SOD and Halliday but due to injuries and players not match Sharp I would start them. 2/6 tae get in
Hoping he goes with two up front. One up at home is hopeless. It's not winning or even drawing home games like these that done us in last season. COYW

COYW Perhaps not the best team to make your point since, in the two games at Fir Park, we tied 3-3 and beat them 5-1. Agree though, there are games we should be starting with two up front. Perhaps starting more games that way than with just one up top. Fingers crossed for two up top tomorrow.

It’s being demolished along with the ‘white house’ and adjacent car showroom on the other side of Windmillhill Street to make way for the ‘new’ road that will be cutting through there. If we go with 2 up top then it has to be 2 up top and not one playing deeper. We don't have a player, yet, who can play on his own, Bair style. They also have to play close together to work as a cohesive unit.
