"To be honest, and I've said this before, I'm not here to complain or want anybody to feel sorry for me, we've got to perform at our best or we won't take anything from the game" (Although I usually enjoy listening to his pressers during my tea break). pretzel
Potentially having up to 8 players out and it's only the second league game of the season is actually depressing. Usually with a full compliment of players, it would probably be fair to say we enter this type of fixture in more hope than expectation. Kettlewell will no doubt revert to the one up top, but in midfield we only have Halliday, Davor, and Sparrow to select from if Miller is indeed out, so it's probably going to be an interesting team selection. I'm certain we played McGinn in a defensive midfield role at one point which didn't work. I would love us to have a go at them. I'm not doubting that they don't have the 2nd best squad in the league, but with the likelihood of Scott Wright, John Souttar, and Ross McCausland playing, you would like to think we will be able to cause them a few problems. We played really well in our two games in Glasgow last season; hopefully it's more of the same tomorrow at Hampden, bringing back another three points of course. Kevin Clancy is the ref for the game. Agree with this but I'm fully expecting to get nothing from this game given the injuries we have. We have a tough run of fixtures coming up so the prospect of another winless run looms large, I hope not so who knows.

We have indeed Allan. Looking quite far ahead into October, its hard to see where our next point is coming from. Normally winnable games are going to be very tough indeed given our injury list. A winless run could extend for a month oir two and put SK under pressure. That said, new players like Ap Stam and Kofi Balmer might come good and we might sign a couple of midfield players on 6 month loans. That could change everything. weeyin
We quite regularly pick up points against St Johnstone, Hearts and Aberdeen so even if we get nothing against Rangers I'm not sharing the fear.
grizzlyg
If Miller not fit then we have a midfield that will create hee haw. I like wee Davor but doesn't work having him and halliday in team but with injuries we have no other option. No idea about Sparrow but I assumed he played on the wing!!.....cueeee........ba boom
texanwellfan
Maybe wells will be in the starting line up? Or is he injured too?

Starting young Wells - who I think is an excellent talent and prospect - in a depleted team and against the rangers has the potential to have him hung out to dry. I understand that Kettlewell may not have a choice tomorrow, but I'd prefer to see him come off the bench to help us change things up as the game progresses.
steelboy
It's mental that we are struggling to get 11 players on the park tomorrow. Hopefully it's a wake up call for Kettlewell and the board.
Happy Dosser
Struggling to find any reasons for optimism tomorrow. I suspect The Ox and Liam Gordon will be asignificant upgrade on last season but injuries and (so far) ineffectual newbies are a worry already. Whatever your views on Blaney that tackle by White from the side looked malicious to me in the POD and in general the referee allowed RC to "express their physicality" freely, not just against our front two but against Lennon Miller in particular. A point tomorrow would feel like an achievement. So: hat-trick for Apostolos? May The Force be with us.....

Yes it was a bad tackle and perhaps White was lucky to escape with a yellow card. Other than that County kicked Miller off the park. We remarked at full time that our physio would have to work overtime.

twistandshout1983
Expecting a defeat today especially with all the injuries , but strangely I think it might be a closer game today than it would be if it was played at Fir Park Our recent record against both the Glasgow mobs is better away than at home in recent seasons

I often skip the match threads after a poor performance or defeat as I don't need to read any more "SK/Paton/Slattery/Davor/Casey/SOD is shite” posts. Likewise, it's easy to not watch Sportscene (or fast forward through our match) and don't bother reading the match reports in the media. By Wednesday, all focus will be on the Killie game.
