This will be a tough one, their new manager has got them playing well, unbeaten so far this season, a point would be a good result. That said we have won our last 3 in a row so if we continue with that form we could get a result, here's hoping.

Aberdeen have been doing well, but struggled to break down Ross County last weekend and were saved from going a goal down thanks to a very marginal VAR decision.

If Maswanhise has a go at their defence, we have a chance. Our record at Pittodrie hasn't been too bad in recent years.

Personally I'm not overly fussed on international football, it's even more annoying when we have two away games sandwiched between them. Aberdeen seem to be a much more organised side this season they were quite fortunate against Ross County with the marginal offside and the penalty miss however getting that last gasp win will no doubt have boosted their confidence. Hopefully we get to taste Willie Millers tears next week.

We need to hope that the kettle has us on full boiling point so we can give the Aberdeen team a right good scalding.

in all honesty I’m expecting this to be a good match hopefully a good result for us as both us and dons are in good form and a win against them would have the confidence flowing before a big league cup semi next week.

Calm down there. LOL! We’re not in the semi yet.

I dont think the actual result matters too much for us on Saturday. Obviously any kind of result and the additional points that goes with that would be welcome. However, Im more interested in the performance and the development of the team this week.

Aberdeen have 100% record so far, so losing to them on their own patch wouldnt be that much of a surprise or any kind of disgrace.

But if we can be competitive with them, create chances against them and look like we are continuing in the manner in which we have started the season, I will be pretty happy.

We really need to improve our home form this season as thats where most of our fans see us play and where any "feelgood factor" comes from.

Away wins and points are welcome. But home points need to be our bread and butter. It takes so much more pressure off the manager and players.

Not very often that Aberdeen win 5 opening league matches. 9 years ago and about 40 years ago so hopefully they won’t  manage it this season. A Point to us would be acceptable but if we can put in a decent performance and come away with 3 points that would be a huge confidence booster ahead of next weeks cup game

Our record up there is decent plus Don's started well but 2 wins were v killie and buddies after euro games plus they only just beat Ross Co.  Would take a draw just now if offered but would obviously want 3.....COYW

This is how managers get away with zero wins in 15.

Is it? Is it aye?

Amazing how you can reduce 2 paragraphs to one sentence and pretend it supports your agenda.

If we play brilliant tomorrow and lose 5-4 will you be calling for the managers head?

Edit: shoulda checked my original post. It was actually 5 paragraphs.

If we play brilliant and WIN 5-4 Steelboy would probably still call for the managers head 🤪

I think you are making some fair points about wanting to see a good performance but when the first line of the post is totally defeatist it suggests a certain mindset.

To move it away from Motherwell there are still people making excuses for Steve Clarke despite all the defeats this year. I think this attitude from the fans actually hurts our teams because when a Scottish manager knows that a draw or narrow defeat is acceptable they will play for that result and it becomes a downward cycle.

Aberdeen have started well but aren't a juggernaut. We should be aiming for a clean sheet today as a bear minimum and see what we can do at the other end.

Thanks for providing some balance.

I didnt think the first line was defeatist. I didnt say that I think we will lose. There are other posters who will do that.

I go into every game thinking we can win it. But 50 years of following Motherwell tempers that a little.

Aberdeen have started well. They seem to have found the right manager at last and have a squad of players that on paper should be better than ours.

But we all know that football isnt played on paper, so there is always the chance of an upset.

Despite our horrendous injury list, SK has managed to once again generate a real camaraderie in the dressing room. That together with the sprinkling of talent we have in the team could take us a long way.

Im just not gonna get upset if we dont win today.

As long as we play well and meet our "non negotiables" 😉
