Its Dundee at home - they've won one league game since the clocks went forward in March, we've gotta be looking at 3 points in that one , Utd must be a chance of a point, Celtic will just be a loss, those bastards are just too hard to beat.

County could have got something today if they played a bit more smartly. They sat in the whole second half rather than go a for second goal.

Ur right, Dundee at home and yes, we should be looking to take 3 points, I think we are all well aware that all games are going to be tight and the wrong attitude or 1 silly mistake can be the difference between. 3 points or zero points. To our credit, this year, we have recovered from silly mistakes and collected the points. We have also drastically reduced the number of silly mistakes this year.

A dominant goalkeeper makes a huge difference

SOD has played well this season, whilst yesterday was a poor performance by him some of the criticism feels a bit OTT.

Criticism focused on his mistake because it got punished. Robinson Fannied about in centre circle one time which led to Ox saving well from Cadden. Could/should have been Hibs goal.

I've watched Ap Stam's goal over and over and will never tire of it. It wasn't just any old goal it was a real striker's goal, as they said on Kingdom FM. The lad can certainly finish. A venomous strike. A phrase I hate hearing when we're attacking is that it was a good strike but the keeper made a great save. That usually suggests to me that the finish wasn't quite 100%. Certainly not the case yesterday.  Josef Bursik is a damned fine keeper but there was no way he was saving Ap Stam's effort.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of his finishing!

Miller deserves a lot if credit for the free kick too as it was weighted perfectly for AP to run onto. Easy to overhit those.

So we’ve had two “streaks” of 3 wins. Hopefully we can make this 4 wins in a row. Only one of our games since the group section has been decided by more than one goal, (V Hearts) so we have to be sure and turn up mentally and physically for every game this season. We are in a good position and we know there is still room for a lot of improvement so we have a chance for a good season if we can maintain our approach and not get carried away.

Definitely not getting carried away but we’re 1/3rd of the way to premiership safety and have reached a cup semifinal without having fielded what is supposed our “best team”. No doubt a dip will come but credit to the management and team and hopefully the good times continues.

The big difference this season is we arent shipping loads of goals.

The only times we have lost more than 1 goal in a game were against Rangers and Aberdeen and those were the 2 games we have lost.

Even then we were unlucky not to equalise late in both of those.

If you only need to score once in a game to get some sort of positive result, you give yourself a much better chance of doing so.

If you are having to score 2 or 3 it makes it much more difficult.

Still be nice to get some midfielders back though and add a bit more creativity for our forward players to feed off!

International break after 3 wins on the bounce and 6 wins from 7.

I feel like it's going to be quiet in here until the Dundee game.

Aye, no bad run of form so far and great seeing us grinding out results we would have lost last season.

I won't make Dundee game as will be heading to Yorkshire as Mrs grizzly running Yorkshire marathon. Peace and quiet for that part of hunter stand! 🤣🤣

Main dilemma is does casey return to starting x1? Would be very harsh on Balmer

I thought Balmer had a few ropy moments in defence, he's maybe not suited to playing on the left. Given that Casey won us points with his card i'd have him back in.

I thought defensively he was fine but his distribution was poor which I put down to his position.

Agree, I said at the start of this season that the difference between our defence last season and kettlewell's period the season before was the lack of a 'dominator and organiser' centrally. Butcher did it and I'm pretty sure we would have been expecting to come back as his old self early in the season last year. Bevis, for all his dominance in the air, was not a shouter/leader/organiser. He really needed orgainised himself. Liam Gordon seems to have the voice, the organisational skills and the ability to play that role. Mcginn and Casey were great along with Butcher and gave little away. Hopefully that will keep up with Gordon in there.

For me Casey still has more defensive lapses than the rest of the back line. I appreciate his attitude and the problems he can cause in the opponent's box at set pieces, but I wouldn't be averse to trying out other options there.

Regular 1st pick players like casey will always miss games for whatever reason injury, suspension  etc. So it's up to the player who comes in to cover to show that they should be the 1st pick and Balmer made a case for that on Saturday so he probably deserves a run in the team to show he's up to it.

It's a good position for a manager to be in to have a squad with cover for most positions.

For me there is little to choose between Casey and Balmer. Both take no prisoners when it comes to defending but both can be careless when clearing the ball under pressure. Both contribute when it comes to attack. Might come down to who fits better with Gordon, who appears to be a fixture and a leader. And suspensions will be a factor given how 'robust' both are. Certainly not a bad dilemma for Kettlewell to have. Add OX and the upgrade on last season is massive. I also think Wilson has improved defensively which is credit to him and the coaching staff.

We have a set of players who are pretty decent for the most part but have that mistake in them. We seem to be recovering from most of the mistakes but did get punished against Hibs and St Mirren. SOD getting a much harder time of it than Gordon for their mistakes and Miller sparing Ox’s blushes against Hibs with the header off the line. Overall though we do look much better organized defensively and appear comfortable for long periods in games. However, I think it’s very obvious how much better we look from attacking sense when SK changes things up. I’m not a fan of the play conservative for 60 mins then go for the win but here we are sitting in 4th spot and in a semi final so can’t really argue with SK favoring that approach. We do have players coming off the bench that make a difference when they come on which was not always the case. So despite the doom and gloom throughout the close season looks like SK knows what he is doing after all, although it will be very interesting to see how things play out when he finally has 100% of players at his disposal. I’m hoping it means we can plan with full intensity for a full game, being able to bring players off the bench to replace tiring legs. Or being able to cover for suspensions and rest players so they stay fresh and injury free.
I think the outlook is very optimistic just now and hoping we can deliver some blows to the OF as well as maintain our run of good results against the other teams.

With the nature of the news and media these days, and changes to the way our Police operate, its very, very difficult to get an informed and objective report on events, be they international, national or local. In such cases as this, its a known unknown. Most of us know very little, if anything, about what actually  took place.

Must have been a bigger incident than people thought, another 5 people arrested today, no clue as to what team if any they supported.
