That was really frustrating, I thought it was a fairly even game, lovely through ball by Halliday early on presented a great chance for Robinson but the Dee defender done well with his last gasp challenge. We had a few other potential breaks in the first half but each was painfully short by Miller and we ended up conceding not long after one was intercepted. I said at half time I was surprised the ref played on as Halliday was on the ground holding his head long before the ball ended up in the net after a collision with a team mate.

It felt like we were moving the ball about too slow constantly and when we tried to force the issue the long balls were generally easily dealt with.

I thought the ref was letting them away with quite a bit esph the shirt pulling while at the same time being overly protective of the wee number 10.

It felt like one of those days we could have played another 90 and not scored.

Hopefully Stamas injury isn't too bad.

We could solve half of our midfield problems by dropping Davor or Halliday.

The fact that we signed 17 players and these two clowns start every week is criminal. Halliday at least can remember being a footballer.

Robinson is unbelievably bad. Never in control of the ball or threatening and no movement. Somehow Tavares is worse.

We had won 5 games out of 6 before today with both of them starting.  We also don't have many options at the moment apart from sparrow who yes I agree should be given a chance

We were getting by on scoring from set pieces and Oxborough making big saves.

In the league we scored a decent goal at Pittodrie, Miller's against St Mirren and the one the Hearts left back gifted Sparrow and that's it from open play. To start today with the same set up that was brutal in the first half against Hibs defied belief.

It appears we likely missed our captain driving and organising us today.

Quite correct , I think as well.   But our negative tactics of passing across and backwards in our own half against a  Dundee side with a leaky defence , which has had no clean sheets all season was down to managers tactics. Very , very negative should have been attacking wide from the start. Poor team selection on his part.

Reminds me of his tactics for the Aberdeen game at Fir Park last season when they had been loosing a lot goals every game and we played five across the back til we were 2-0 down.   Kettlewell is not the most dynamic attack minded manager in the league by a very long way. That was awful to watch today.

Davor takes some real stick. His ability is limited and his job is to break up play , track runs etc - he’s certainly not great BUT it is the job of miller and Halliday to get on the ball, move the ball forward , link play and support the front line - neither were anywhere near it today and not for the first time which led to us going long as they didn’t want the ball and led to the strikers being isolated - most alarming of all was their no 26 receiving the ball from their back line  time after time with miller ( our most forward placed  player tactically ) being nowhere near him and allowing him to take the ball spin and play forward every single time.  We couldn’t do that as our midfield didn’t want the ball and were shut down which resulted in going backwards on most occasions . Surely to fuck Kettlewell could see that or maybe not .

Miller  and Halliday had the plaudits of late but dundee and docherty had us sussed out today not only with his midfield tactics but midfield desire and strength and determination.

Hopefully Sparrow is fit soon to get a start and hopefully Kettlewell will introduce some width and pace into the team otherwise next weekend will be a training exercise for Celtic and it will be a long long 90 mins

Would  have bitten your hand off for 5th place but it will only go one way if we don’t sort the basics out over the next few weeks and that starts with the midfield 3

Very flat performance today. Reminded me of early season games at home. Patrick in league cup group and Ross County first league game.

Too slow on the ball and movement not good enough.

Dundee not much better but got the better of us when defending our set pieces, which have got us most of our goals up to now.

I just don't get what davor brings to the team , he's not even a good tackler , which I am thinking is his primary purpose

But we beat hibs so why would he change it? I wasn't there today so obviously can't comment on today's performance but you seem to be negative all the time pal. Yep all about opinions but I do wonder what line up or formation you would like

He changed his starting line up at Easter Road at half time because it was dire. If Sparrow is injured then he didn't have many options but guess who's fault that is?

Also no mention of the £250,000 man chucking it before half time.

That was odd, he went straight down the tunnel leaving us down to 10 til half time. Surely ill rather than injured.

I do agree with you on that pal, can't understand why he keeps his place

I honestly think this is going to be a recurring theme with Kettlewell a Bair esk project every season on the hope he comes good.

I am disappointed by Robinson thought he would have at least started to show more by now I must stress that we have been utterly woeful with service to him in alot of matches but that's probably due to the poor pairing of Davor and Holliday in midfield not really being able to create anything.

Dundee and docherty had us sussed out today

That was it for me. This game was lost off the pitch. Dundee had done their homework and nullified Wilson and Miller. We had obviously never heard of Lyle Cameron. They applied a high energetic press, knowing that our defensive midfield is non existent.

Today our midfield was not at the races and that caused us problems at the back and for our 2 strikers. We afforded a grateful Cameron the freedom of Fir Park both before and after he scored. Their goal was anticipated by almost everyone around us. That was down to SK.

The front 2 struggled in the first half and quite plainly high balls isn't their forte. One look at the Dundee defence at 3 pm should have told SK that. Ap Stam apart its not clear what our best striking partnership is and SK clearly doesn't know either. Time for the ineffective Robinson to be rested and Watt brought in. I assume Ap Stam went off feeling ill. He looks useful but a bit lightweight. The ball simply isn't sticking up front.

A priority for me in the January window is a solid  physical defensive midfielder. Davor is simply too lightweight.

As much as today was an off day for everyone, including the manager, I thought our performance confirmed how much of a miss McGinn is going to be. There isn’t much that can be done to replace his composure or reading of the game. However, we surely need to tweak the back 3 and select SoDs or Seddon to be the one that brings the ball into midfield. Put Balmer’s party trick back in its box until Hampden.

International break.....

2 guys in Kazakhstan

1 in Australia and Japan

1 in Zimbabwe/somewhere else in africa

Takes it toll

It didn't take its toll on Dundee who had 6 away on international duty  including the energetic Cameron.
