The seats in the McLean are ripped out every other week. Hibs, St Mirren, Dundee Utd etc in the last season or 2, Celtic are far from the only one's to do it

Celtic are in a different league to every other clubs supports when it comes to vandalising the South Stand. Add to that the standing in the the aisles in their thousands which would clearly suggest doubling up at the turnstiles and the usual pyro/invading the park and it’s a horrible atmosphere.

Doubling up at the turnstyles should be easily avoided by having a barrier with a line of stewards/police checking tickets at the entrance from Dalzell Drive. No ticket no entry. It used to happen years ago all around the ground.

Agreed.

Its a feature of modern day policing that tolerance is shown to large crowds, irrespective of behaviour,  and they are afforded leeway that isn't extended to other smaller groups. That said we can look back to Helicopter Sunday as an example of how policing at football matches was carried out even then. I was encouraged by the official Police pre match hard line about ticketless fans and Celtic fans in the home stands. In the event they turned a blind eye.  Thats what they'll do on Sunday.  Thats not a criticism of individual officers incidentally, more of the higher echelons and politicians.

We should take the financial hit and refuse to send them tickets, that will save all of the subsequent seat / Stadium damage, the stewards won't be harassed and the rest of us will enjoy the game in a much more pleasant atmosphere. It won't happen but it would be a nice change.

Not in the real world it won’t. We just have to put up with them, and smile when they give us their dole money to get in.

The behaviour of their scum supporters is easily rectified. Two strikes and its a 6 point deduction. However the SPFL is run to suit two clubs so the the tough effective decisions will never be made.

The SPFL authorities need to bite the bullet and tell all Clubs that if damage caused to away grounds by their fans is not compensated within a reasonable timescale, then those repair costs plus 10% (increasing add on if repeated} will be deducted from sponsorship/performance monies and passed directly to the Club(s) affected. Once it starts to hurt financially maybe the issue will not be swept under the carpet. I wonder if there actually is something already in place, but not enforced.

But I also long for the day that we are financially able and willing to withhold tickets in such circumstances. All hell would break loose if we did and I suspect the Authorities would penalise us if we stuck to our guns. It is an issue that requires discussion at an SPFL Board Meeting. If it happens again this weekend then it's time for Motherwell and others to stand up.

Don't know about Park's part in things but if true it is pretty unprofessional.

What I would like to have confirmed is who actually pays for the repairs?  Rumour in the past was that Celtic agreed to pay if we did not go public, over charge,  or make a fuss. But that all fell apart when Burrows highlighted the extent of the damage a few seasons ago. Perhaps something our new Board will address? Even after all their Uefa fines, I'm pretty sure they can afford to pay.

Is it a coincidence that Celtic (and their city friends) have been repeatedly fined for their supporters behaviour in Europe but nothing is done by the SPFL of the SFA.

Do you mean two people going through the turnstile at once? Speaking as an ex steward I've only seen that once at a Celtic Accies game at Accies ground- it's actually not that easy to do - particularly when people have to scan a ticket to get admission. Its also not that easy to fit two people into a turnstile to get two in at once.

It's because UEFA adopt a policy of strict liability, holding clubs directly responsible for fan misbehaviour. Obviously the Scottish footballing authorities will never follow suit.

The problem with Celtics game at Fir Park last season was they attempted to (successfully, I believe) force open the fire exit to let their ticketless pals run in, the silly bastarts then posted a video on Twitter attempting to play the victim when stewards tried to stop them.

It was one of the reasons Celtic (very briefly) banned the Green Brigade. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-67277186.amp

Its not doubling up at the turnstiles its fans once inside the ground rushing the stewards and, opening the fire escape doors and letting hundreds of their pals in for free. The police and stewards knew the south stand was overcrowded before the game started but as usual they stood back and did feck all about it, if they are not going to intervene there is no point in them being there.

The reason the seats didn't get repaired was apparently down to Park making an arse of dealing with the contractor.

Surely we would have the exact specs of what we need for replacing seating within that stand squirreled away safely somewhere but it doesn't surprise me after the issues we faced with the East Stand under his project management.

I'm sure I read somewhere that clubs are only expected to pay up to £25,000 for any damage their fans cause, I wonder why our stadium gets hit worse than others.

I truly hate when the bigots come to town but saying that it's quite sad how many stay in a stones throw proximity to Fir Park.

We performed well against them in every fixture last season suffering two late sickeners at Fir Park but managing to score a late equaliser at Parkhead. I always tend to hope that they're a bit sluggish after we play them right after a European game but they never seem to be. We will need a massive improvement upon last week to get anything from this game, I would love to see some changes in the side but I'd wager that it's only going to be either Robinson or Stama that drops out.

Hopefully sellik tired after last night but I would expect some changes to their line up.

I really hope we get in their faces early on and not allow any time on the ball. Also no offence to Robinson but 1 goal in 14 games isn't good enough and he needs benched and let's start Maswanhise for pace.

Ps. In other news......a factory worker died after falling into a VAT of coffee, paramedics said he didn't suffer......it was instant 🤪🤪🤪

The evidence suggests that he couldn’t manage himself out of a cardboard box.

What’s more vexing is the fact that someone somewhere in the Club thought that the credentials of a retired police officer matched those required to undertake the role of safety AND facilities manager at a top flight football club. The former I can just about understand but not the latter.

It appears that he’s actively costing the Club more money than necessary, due to incompetence, at the same time as doing his best to play the role of pretendy policeman as he seeks to vilify and piss off paying fans.

Celtic potentially won't be keen on paying due to our inability to control how many people end up in that Stand...that'd be my get out if I were them...and to me, that's also on our Head of Safety (or whatever his title is).

The club is currently weighing up what to do with the POD stand due to the H and S issues that have recently arisen. 2 Mill to repair or 4 mill to build a new stand and it'll most likely be under his watch.

Fair point but there was quite a lot of footage of the Celtic fans trying to barge open the fire escapes back when we played the first fixture at Fir Park last season, usually they have a steward manning the door but it was the police that was stopping them from opening it from the outside. The next time they visited they made them all go through a big zig-zag queuing system before you get past the big gates but I'm not sure if any incidents occurred.

I'd love it if we pumped them.

Someone said it was doubling up at the turnstiles which is why I posted what I did
