I feared our midfield favoured trio would stand off mcgregor . I was wrong as mcgregor never played but my goodness the blessed midfield 3 ensured they never tried to get near Celtic - can’t remember one single tackle on them. They didn’t press and didn’t sit they advanced two steps again and again to allow Celtic to pick them off and pass around them

Halliday so far off the pace it’s hard to believe , Davor not good enough and Miller did his best to draw out of everything . Yes he’s a talent in a Possesion based team and  on the ball but wasteful today with his corners, wasteful with possibly our best two chances with headers and clearly the hussle and toughness isn’t his game. We need fit , strong ball winners next to him not the managers friend who can’t run the length of himself.

We have so many strikers but can’t seem to get the right combination to see if any are actually any good.

Back 3 as poor as I’ve seen them today - partly due to opposition and partly due to who was in it

Thought Kaleta showed up well as did Sparrow

Summer signing policy is starting to give us problems - no goal scorers and no midfielders

Our midfield gives me the utter fear, miller aside there's nothing there, there's no pace or ability to go and press the opposition,to have davor and halliday in the team at the same time is criminal,we can talk about injuries but let's be honest the likes of callaghan and paton aren't any better.the game last week showed our midfield up for what it is rather than today and it's only going to get worse the more games we play, halliday is done and davor is someone that will be playing at the likes of accies or morton before to long.

I think Paton is better and hopefully Slattery will do ok when he comes back

I assume you are talking about Halliday? Why is he the managers friend when according to some people we have multiple poor players

Slattery would be a better option than halliday or davor, the issue is how long it will take him to get upto speed and into the first team,I'm of the thinking that if we get anything out of slattery this season it will be a bonus.

Aye, I'm struggling with Robinson a bit now and Watt has been pretty much an empty jersey thus far.

Robinson is brutal offers feck all and should be nowhere near the team, For me Stama and Ebiye are our most likely front pairing to score.

Good first 20 minutes, we should have taken the lead but we didn't and looked burst afterwards sitting way too deep.

Our strikers were 35 yards from our goal line and Celtic's centre halves were sitting 10 yards in our half.

You just can't play like that against Celtic as their players will always be better at one-twos, making little triangles, passing, winning the ball and finding space in tight situations.  It's only a matter of time.  You actually need to play a more expansive type of football and we didn't, at least after those first 20 minutes.

First two Celtic goals came from us back pedalling far too much when we should have defended much higher up the pitch.

At 2-0 it was game over and basically a training match.

I assume as it went to VAR it was a red card but I didn't see anything in it from where I was.

Overall a match were Celtic's overall quality, at least in a Scottish context, was clear.  With the exception of Lennon Miller none of our players get close to theirs but I still would like to see a more positive attitude in general.

When we are on the ball we should be seeing multiple players automatically making runs into the box and it's like maybe one will go, or maybe not.

I understand that physically, mentally, technically we don't have top level players but I'd still like to see more attacking intent.

Defences are poor in this league, that's including Celtic's, and if you can get that right you'll carry a big threat.

Unfortunately we aren't and it's mostly tactically and systemic rather than the actual players.

Defences are poor in this league, bang on the money and when you do attack you have one or 2 players in the box, expecting to win games on set pieces  will never work.midfields a big problem no creativity or energy.

Hopefully he will do OK. He's back training so Id like to think we'll see him as soon as it's practical to play him.

Decent half although Celtic had more control after they scored.  Bit unlucky hitting the wood work a couple of times. Did ref give a Free kick to Celtic after Miller hit the bar? I noticed he touched the rebound first but can’t recall if ref penalized that or not.

He gave an indirect free kick for the second touch.

Needed everybody playing well, them not and a bit of luck but got none of that.

Pretty decent start to the game would have been interesting to see how things would have gone with even one of Miller's attempts in the first 10 minutes going in.

Gordon's tackle at the end looked from the Cooper just a standard late challenge booking but Sportsound saying it was a bad one. Could really bite us if it was, not seen it back.

This one up front running about with the other players about 30 yards from him is not working it s a waste of a guy like Stam who could probably put the ball in the net regular if he had someone playing right beside him.

Kaleta needs to be playing from the start its a waste of a player him sitting on the bench week in week out or next to no game time.

Wilson might need to be dropped just to give him rest looked like he was totally flagging today he hasnt played badly just needs a game off maybe.

Lennon Miller is such a baller simply as that!

As are lots of people

Of course. But Steelboy seems to be fair game for a lot of posters on here and that’s why I’m highlighting this.

I don’t agree with everything he says and sometimes I even think he can be a bit harsh on certain players and coaching staff but he clearly loves the club and wants the best for us.

Suggesting that because  “he’s constantly criticising players and management” (which isn’t accurate) suggests that he doesn’t support the club or supports someone else is absolute nonsense. He is clearly very passionate about the club and wants us to succeed as much as we can.

It appears though that it’s been ‘decided’ that he’s the main villain on here and anything he says is fair game to be pounced upon.

Got yo hope when callachan,  slattery,  paton and Nicholson are back, one of them displaces davor , offers nothing

The problem is that none of them are defensive players. Davor is the kind of player we need but just isn't up to the required standard. An honest trier though.

No. But it's the midfield that needs strengthening. I'm actually really sorry to see Davor getting as much stick as he is just now
