Was anything made about the massive overcrowding in the South Stand during this game?

Not for the first time when hosting Celtic.

You'd think this kind of very serious safety issue would be a topic for discussion but I've not seen anything, although to be fair I've not been online much recently.

Steelboy raised it in the CEO monthly chat thread. Got a reply from Brian Caldwell claiming there was no overcrowding, merely migration from top tier. Followed by some debate questioning how that could be the case when it appeared visibly to the contrary. The thread then turned into another binfire.

Even if that was the case surely exits have to be kept clear?

I'll take a look at the thread.

Oh dear. That's a shame

Absolutely horrible support, total disrespect yet again for remembrance day. No doubt hee haw apology from the club. Fair play to Rodgers for wearing a poppy

Lest we forget, but let’s sell arms.

People should be able to express themselves, either way. Just like Casey who didn’t wear a poppy on Saturday.

But, but b b b b b b b b b b b b b but, but!……Rangers fans are every bit as bad if not worse! Come on now! You’ll be giving people strong suspicions that Rangers are the big team you really support with talk like that.*

The Old Firm are just as bad as each other (well Rangers are worse, it’s okay to say that) but you can’t say anything about Celtic unless you qualify it by saying that you hate Rangers equally or more.

*I’m being sarcastic and having a veiled dig at those who would genuinely come out with nonsense like that.

Of course, it’s a personal choice. Wear one, don’t wear one, that’s nobody’s business except the individual concerned.

But it’s the nasty, aggressive and confrontational tone that the Celtic support take that gets people’s backs up about this. And people would be more accepting of this, I think anyway, if they weren’t so downright hypocritical and sanctimonious about the aggressive “anti-poppy/British/establishment” position that they like to use.

Celtic and their support love to shove their agendas in everyone else’s faces and scream and whinge about “free speech” when anyone challenges them but they don’t want to afford the same right to anyone who has an opinion which goes against their narrative.

The irony of the whole poppy debacle these days is that while the Royal British Legion is very vocal about everyone choosing to do what they want, it has been turned into a political game by the populists who love freedom so much they want to make you wear what they want you to wear, and only say what they agree with.

The worst thing about it is the red poppy being hijacked by all the different factions.

If people want to promote a particular cause on remembrance day then they should choose their own emblem and leave the poppy alone and respect what it stands for.

Unfortunately in this day and age its my way or the highway for the more extreme elements of society who might not even have had the freedom to express their views if it wasn't for the sacrifice of all our young men and women.

Sorry for the rant but it's something that truly pisses me off no end.

100%.

Both sides are as bad as each other. From the anti-poppy crowd making a song and dance about their views, being critical of people who wear one, and the pro crowd doing the same, taking to social media to question the integrity and patriotism of those who dare appear on their television screen without one on.

Social media has a lot to answer for in that regard. Take the online side of things out of the equation and it suddenly isn't that big a deal.

It does. But long before social media was a thing,  folk used to write to Points of View every year moaning about which TV presenters weren't wearing poppies and which were showing off by wearing the ones with the extra green bits.

It seems that Casey did wear one, so I’ll correct that for the record. Regardless, my point remains.

It's getting a bit harder to take it seriously now the youngest WW2 veterans are mid 90s.

It's not just about the veterans that are still alive. Both my grandfather's were involved in WW2 and although no longer with us they sacrificed a lot.

Everyone has their own views which of course is allowed. I am sure some of our fans on Saturday don't agree but they didn't resort to the disgraceful scenes yesterday  ( well apart from the guy drying his hands in the toilets at back of hunter stand) 🤪🤪

For what its worth, I have every respect for those who have served and even more so for those that have given their lives in the service of their country.

I have little respect though for the majority of politicians who send our brave lads n lassies into danger. Very rarely has it ever been for the right reasons. Power & greed are usually the order of the day.

I would never disrespect a minutes silence, but I no longer wear a red poppy, mainly due to the insistence of the same politicians that not doing so is in some way unpatriotic.

I will continue to stand silently and wear a white one for peace, in the hope that no more of our sons & daughters have to die needlessly in the name of politicians who could never do what they do.
