It may be stating the obvious, but we are gonna have to do a whole let better than we did on Saturday if we are going to avoid a hammering.

I see Stama was confirmed as a stomach bug on Saturday, so hopefully that will have passed and he will be fit to start.

If he is we really need to leave him up by himself and put an extra player in midfield.

Either Sparrow if he is fit, or Maswanhise to give us an out ball when we eventually do win it back.

If we go the same again as Saturday it will just be wave after wave of Celtic attack and the inevitable 3 or 4 nil.

SK has already said there isnt going to be a kneejerk reaction to Saturday so he isnt going to make wholesale changes (its just not his way), so the best I think we can hope for is

                               Ox

            Balmer Gordon Casey

SOD                                            Wilson

                        Davor

      Halliday   Miller   Sparrow /TJ

                        Stama

As usual against Celtic, I'm hoping for a win or Draw, but expecting the inevitable defeat. Our current midfield gives me the fear though so I see another 90 mins of no decent service to front players and the defence resorting to punting endless high balls forward hoping for the best.

Our best hope of a goal could be Balmer with his long throws.

I get where you're coming from, but Stama doesn't seem like the kind of player to leave up front on his own, especially without support. We'll also need pace if we want to break out of defence quickly so should we introduce Kaleta for Wilson? I agree with Sparrow's introduction, if fit, of course.

I think he is the best we have.

He and Robinson didnt combine at all on Saturday and Robinson on his own doesnt really work either. Albeit he looks less poor on his own.

Celtic will dominate midfield but we cant just surrender it to them or it will be a long afternoon.

We will definitely need an out ball whether it be Sparrow, Maswanhise or Kaleta. For me Stama has the most game intelligence to support that.

If Watt was anywhere near fit Id consider starting him up top as he can at least hold it up and win fouls. But it looks like we got the old Tony back, not the one Robbo whipped into shape.

This is how I would set us up against Celtic. We need pace to exploit the space they leave in behind and I feel Stam is the best at bringing those around him into play out of our Strikers (Argument for Watt)

5-4-1

Ox

SOD-Balmer-Gordon-Casey-Wilson

Taveres-Miller-Halliday-Maswanhise

Stam

He'll start Davor, Halliday, SOD and Robinson despite them being total dead weight.

I can see Balmer getting exposed as well. He didn't look too clever defending on Saturday.

Not having a dig here, genuinely, what team would you pick?

Tough week coming up Celtic(h) Dundee Utd (a) then rangers in Semi. So not sure if that schedule will affect SK’s approach to team tactics and selection. I imagine some fringe players will get some more time than usual but we really need Sparrow and Stam available to spread the load.

That looks decent to me , it gives Wilson and Kaleta support on their side which was completely lacking on Saturday which resulted in Wilson turning back more often than going forward but Maswanhise would need to put a shift in bur I am not sure hes capable of doing that . I don't recall sods being in the opposition half very often and basically offered nothing in an attacking sense on saturday. It also puts Lennon in his best position where he is most effective. A really stiff two week training regime would really benefit Watt and get him fitter.

I think he knew he had cost us against St Mirren and Hibs so decided to play it safe to protect his starting jersey.

I try to be upbeat but I fear either a drubbing or the usual hold on till 89th min then concede a late goal.

Can't comment on Saturday performance apart from what I saw on sportscene but definitely would drop Robinson,  give Maswanhise a start to give us pace up top.

Used to have decent record at home v sellik but I think 2013 was last time we beat them at Fir Park....COYW

One of those two scenarios is almost certainly what will happen on Sunday.

No doubt accompanied with the usual damage to the South Stand by the self righteous “social justice warriors” in the away support.

I can see it far enough already. 🙄

and the ground wrecked just like they do on every visit to Fir Park. I heard Celtic refused to pay for the damage the last time and Motherwell are having to refer it to the SPFL board.
