Btw putting the away fans in the top tier is tinpot stuff and pathetic from a fan owned club.

Let it all out, you know you want too...

Kettlewell, haliday, davor, stama...

Just a surprise Burrows didnt make the greatest hits list today!

Assume you didnt see Halliday burst a gut last week to get on the end of one against the Rangers?

Assume we didnt destroy St J first half today? - of course we should have been out of sight, not just 2 up.

Assume we didnt take another 3 points today?

Now im far from a big Kettlewell fan but this is easily the best we have been in terms of results and on the eye since im guessing McCall. Sadly, that wasnt yesterday. Plenty room for improvement no doubt but as for yer pish.....

Overall, a good day yesterday grinding out a win against normally stuffy opponents. Whilst the game panned out much the way I expected possession wise, fans would be pleasantly surprised by Saints more expansive approach. This is a game we’d have lost last year. My MOTM were Kaleta, Seddon, Sparrow and Manwhanise.

Enforced absences took their toll in defence and most likely in midfield.  Great to see Harry Paton return late on and his strong running made a short but telling impact. Throughout the game we struggled in midfield, when not in possession, leaving gaps all over the place. Saints were good enough to dominate possession, but fortunately not good enough to do anything productive with it. I felt a bit sorry for Ewan Wilson as he looked a bit unsure of his role and was hung out to dry too much for my liking.  Playing the game with no out and out defensive midfielder took its toll and our central defence was put under unnecessary pressure. Fortunately they stood up to it very well as the Ox will tell you.

Lennon Miller had another quiet game although he was better in the first half. Maybe teams are wising up to him or the weight of captaincy is affecting him? He looked tired and needs a rest. Up front we still haven’t got it right. Stam was left isolated all too often against a huge defence and he really did look diminutive. Played in the right way, ie in the box, I think he’ll flourish. We’ll need to find him a partner though to give him space.

Plenty of plus points though. We played some pretty good counter attacking football in spells in the first half. Great to watch and capped by 2 goals.  Maybe the best I’ve seen for some time in fact. The game should have been over by half time. In flashes, Manwhanise was unplayable. The 2nd 45 was a huge self inflicted let down, although Saints did alter their set up to some effect. We sat far too deep and let Saints come on to us. Although they were toothless, the 2 VAR decisions showed the folly of surrendering territory easily.  It just takes a dodgy penalty call, a freak shot, a blunder; anything really and you’re in trouble. We survived a nail biting finish though.

As reported elsewhere the ref was poor throughout. His positioning wasn’t great for many calls.

I really despair with this place.

If nobody can see any positives out of that first half today, I dont know where to start with you.

Yes, St Johnstone played some nice stuff at times, but it was reminiscent of us under Hammell and we know how that turned out.

We havent had a functioning midfield all season. Our tactic is clearly to let the other team have the ball and to hit them on the break.

And you know what? It works!

I thought Seddon was immense first half mopping up at the back and spraying passes about. Kaleta was electric down the right and Maswanhise gave their centre backs a torrid time.

We scored 2 really good goals and really shoulda been outta sight by half time.

St Johnstone made 3 changes at half time which shows you how Simo thought it was going, and tbf to him, it did make an initial impact until we worked it out.

Thought the rest of the second half was scrappy, but I didnt see Saints scoring until the penalty.

Not really sure what Halliday is supposed to do. Its fired straight at him from close range and he turns his back on it. Yes it hits his hand and its the kind of thing that was given regularly last season, but we had raised the bar this year and I thought we had seen the last of those decisions. Obviously not.

At that point I think the players lose the plot. Balmers head was gone after his clash with Kimpioka and Davors miss, deary me!

Couldnt see the hand ball for their 2nd, but VAR calls it so happy to take it after the pen call.

Overall. Far from perfect. It never is with us. But lots still to like and another well deserved 3 points.

2 weeks to rest up now and re-focus as we go into a very important run of games which could effectively see us clear of relegation by xmas which would be nice.

PS thought Lennon Miller looked a little bit off it second half today. Not suggesting he should call off from the Scotland U19s. But I wouldnt be devestated if he had a niggle that kept him out. Boy has played a lot of football.

I wouldn't let it bother you, it's always the same suspects, even in victory they'll find a negative or not post at all...probably every club has them .

Can't remember if I said yesterday but the amount of space we leave on left hand side is ridiculous,

Yes, yesterday wasn't the first time we've seen this. Young Wilson was left exposed time and again, especially in the later part of the game. They managed to hit the by line 2 or 3 times.

We’re utterly honking in most departments but somehow we keep winning more than we lose. It’s a tough watch and we’ve been here before. And just like before, it won’t last.

Better watching a good first half and a shitey second half with a win ,than playing well and getting a draw or fuk all from it.

Do you ever predict a clear sunny sky.

There's ones on here who would find something to moan about if we were sitting 5 points clear at the top with 2 games to play and in the final of the Scottish

You're either a glass half full or half empty, thankfully most on here are of the full variety, I just laugh at the other ones and the fun they must be at parties.

We actually played some impressive football for a good part of the 1st half. Really we should have been out of sight ar half time
