I see Dundee is now offering cancellation insurance. A nice little earner. I wonder if its available to their season ticket holders? 

The issue of postponements, travel and refunds needs sorting out by the SPFL.

Two winnable games coming up in the next week. If we lose both that could be the start of another horrendous run in the weeks to come given some tough fixtures. SK will then be under pressure and rightly so. 

By way of comparison  we've just lost 2 winnable games on the bounce scoring one solitary goal and conceding 5 in the process. Not good.

We are struggling just now Dave the injury list is horrendous, missing key players especially SOD and McGinn, there's no width or threat in the team so until SK gets players back fit, I think we are going to see more of the same unfortunately, I don't know if he can come up with another plan given the current resources he has available.

The only major short term change that I think we can adopt is a 4-4-2 formation, which I doubt if he'll give a second thought to. We're shipping goals with a defensive line up and not scoring Allan. So promote Watt to play as part of the front two with Stama and play Manwhanise in midfield, alongside Paton, Miller and Halliday. Possibly replace Wilson with Seddon. Change captaincy with Casey/Gordon taking over from Miller.  If he wants to stick with 5-3-2  and tinker then replace Wilson with Seddon and go with a midfield of Paton, Manwhanise and Miller and play Watt alongside Stama. There are various other minor alterations he could adopt.  

Maybe he should take a leaf out of Alex MacDonald's infamous Hearts' management book - any player playing a pass, over head height, to a striker that doesn't result in a goal receives a hefty fine. We just don't have the players to play hoofball as we  saw today.

You’re right. Persevering with an overly defensive 5-3-2 when we’re shipping goals for fun is unacceptable. It’s broken. Everyone and their dog can see that moving to 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 is a good idea, but Kettlewell can’t/won’t see it.

Dundee will expect a 3 5 2 so I would change to a 4 3 1 2.  Watt needs minutes and he at least put in a shift when he came on

Some good suggestions but I don't get playing Wilson in midfield. He's not impressed there. It smacks of trying to shoehorn him into the team.

Think problem we have now is we have hee haw options in midfield if davor and halliday don't start. We are pinning our seasons hopes on an 18 year old to carry the whole midfield.

I thought yesterday was stressful and bad for the blood pressure but jeez you should have been in Costco at 10.30 this morning like Mrs grizzly and I,  like indoor dodgem cars and full of the usual folk pushing trolley while on their mobile...aarrrrggghhhhhh

I like that team. For as much as Halliday certainly tries, I think he needs a bit of time on the bench. We need to give Tony Watt a run of games, and playing him with Stama could hopefully open up a good partnership, especially with TJ's ability alongside them on the wing.

The only real alternative in there at the moment is Halliday and he cant run. Maybe with Paton in there and Watt up front to help Stama, it wouldnt be as big an issue, but right now who can tell?

I wouldnt be averse to trying Seddon in there to see what he can do but then you have the problem with the back 3 not being comfortable on the ball.

Of course this is all predicated on keeping the back 3. Moving to a 4 would provide different options.

I'd be playing 352 on Wednesday. What we need to do is retain the ball a lot better, I find it incredible that our Cbs and Cms can't play through a press. Changing a Shape we've played all season with next to no trainig will cause more problems than it will solve we also have no RM so we'd be shoe-horning someone into a position they aren't used to playing.

The whole team more like. And it’s completely unrealistic and unfair on Miller but that’s where we are because are devoid of footballing quality and so we’re relying on an 18 year old kid to keep the team ticking over. 
 

SK does have the excuse of injuries to Slattery, Nicholson and McGinn to fall back on and that does buy him a bit of ‘grace’ but that will only last so long before serious questions and scrutiny start coming his way over his recruitment, selections and tactics. 
 

This time last year we were in the middle of a wretched run of results in the league and several late equalisers saved ours and more so the managers skin. One year on and there is little if any signs of improvement in performances and only better results earlier on are giving us a bit of a cushion just now. 
 

It’s hard to see what, if any, progress we have made in the last year.

Kettlewell will never switch to a back four for a starting line up. He’s not brave or intelligent enough to do so.

I certainly dont think he will do so on Wednesday night for the reasons The Wellfan has given above.

However, if the results and performances dont improve and we do end up on a winless run, he would need to be mental not to change it up.

He must know he doesnt survive another 16 without a win?
