grizzlyg
Draw for this year's Scottish Cup after East Kilbride v Falkirk. Hopefully a favourable draw and we get a decent run.
MJC
We need the lowest ranked side at home to give us the best chance of progression. We need to avoid Celtic, Rangers or any Premiership side and given the way our exits in the two previous seasons have come about we need to avoid playing a high flying Championship side especially away from home. wellfan
That’ll be St Johnstone away on 18/19 January for the cup game and again the following weekend for the league. What a shite draw, unless you like Perth in the winter.

Apart from not being at home against a lower or non league side why is it a poor draw? If you are going to get another premiership side, then avoiding the good teams is a big bonus, let's be honest St Johnstone are not the best. Getting either of the ugly sisters, Aberdeen, Dundee untd, would have been a poor draw, this is a very winnable tie.
joewarkfanclub
That really is a shit draw..... Away tie against a team we have already played twice this season and will have played 4 times by the week after. It may be a winnable tie, but its hardly inspiring! I was expecting teams like St Mirren, Dundee United or Aberdeen away. We'll save those ties for the next round. I wonder if Saints will be forced, kicking and screaming of course, to give us the away end.

Although the view from the Main Stand is better......

I That is why it's a poor draw. Playing the same team away from home 2 weeks in a row in the middle of January isn't the most exciting prospect. If we have to play away from home, it's nice to get a change of scenery at a ground we don't play at too often. That's part of the attraction of a cup competition - otherwise it just feels like another league match.

El Grew Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM We’ve played them 4 times in the cup at Perth and won all 4 with 10 goals for and 3 against. Unless we smarten-up I doubt we’ll get it to 5 wins though!
weeyin Posted yesterday at 03:20 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:20 AM Apparently, if they beat us we have to sign Simon Mensing again.

I just always presumed our record there was shite as Ive mostly seen us lose there and the games have been turgid souless crap. I was there at the last league game however. It was still mostly turgid souless crap, but we did get an injury time winner!

Anywhere away that we havent been before where you could have a good away day and still a decent chance of a win. Musselburgh, Broxburn, Brechin, Fraserburgh Or a winnable hometie against someone we play less often Airdrie, Dunfermline, Dumbarton, Clydebank. Normally I'd put Falkirk, Ayr United, Raith in that category, but our form probably isnt strong enough right now to wish for that, albeit it could be in January. Just anyone but another Premier League side to be honest. You get that anyway if you are lucky enoygh to get to the latter stages.
MJC Posted yesterday at 12:40 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:40 PM Yet again we draw a Premiership side away from home. Thoroughly uninspiring and I fully expect us to lose this tie.

Stuwell2 Posted yesterday at 05:08 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:08 PM I’m going to say there’s a good chance this will be the shite Friday night game. The Dundee Derby will probably be Saturday 5pm and with Aberdeen, Celtic and Rangers all play in midweek before and the arse cheeks play the following midweek they will be the other weekend games with Aberdeen -darlings of the BBC - playing on the Monday night. Hopefully not as I’m staying in Manchester on the Thursday night for the Man Utd game so could be a ball ache of a journey up to Perth for the Friday night.
