FirParkCornerExile
Do you think the club would uses a big chunk of it to rebuild the Main Stand?

Would certainly be an option. Totally flatten it and build a new one. Will wait and see as I am not convinced we will receive anything near that but obviously delighted if we did but sad to see him leave when that happens

Spiderpig
If such a fee was received for Miller it would maybe pay for refurbishing the POD, but not rebuilding it. Given the strict planning and building rules in force today I doubt the club would get permission to demolish and rebuild it, full length and a similar size. steelman1991
We couldn't build full length anyway unless we bought out the current owners of at least the 1st house after the stand.

We actually owned that house at one point .. I had heard many moons ago that part of the condition of its sale back to a private house was no planning objections could be lodged should the club ever wish to extend the stand. Not sure how true that is.

steelman1991
We did own it at one time, was office space and also club accomodation (I beleive Mio stayed in for some time). I've no inside knowledge, but I doubt any solicitor worth their salt would advise a prospective buyer to purchase under those conditions. Ayr Utds new stand cost circa 2million I'm sure with another 6million available we could get something decent

You are probably right but with the changes in building techniques it may not be as difficult or as intrusive to have a stand running the full length as it was in the 1960s. I believe the issue surrounded the blockage of "natural light" to the house and garden. I doubt that issue - even with more modern building techniques could eradicate the problem
Stuwell2
I’ve suggested before that a new main stand could be the same length as it is now with a purpose built disabled stand with a media centre above it could be built next to it which wouldn’t be tall enough to stop the natural light from getting too the houses behind. Personally I’d like to see some of the money (£4-5M?) spent on a new purpose built training facility with both grass and artificial parks which could be used by the first team, youth teams and also be rented out in the evenings to local teams which would help with the running of the facility. stv
He’s not even left yet and we are spending the fantasy money already. I will wait to see if ,when Lennon moves on how much money we actually have in our bank account. Then decide where i would prefer the money to be spent on 1. upgrade the ground or 2. sqander it on some duff overpriced players for a season or two , probably a bit of both i think.
smiddy
Teams that buy players for that price dont actually / usually pay the full amount up front ( think smellic did with phil ) its normally an upfront payment then dribs n drabs n add ons till its paid but who knows, if it will happen or not ( hope so )

Not sure they bother that much if they are used to splashing £50m + on individual players. £8mill will barely touch the sides if a team of Liverpools stature are actually interested
