From there Killie's point distribution is one of the closest to 50/50 and I suspect today's result will only make it worse. As for the second part, is that not my whole point? Killie have had 2 sides filled with good players but more importantly very good defenders as well as 2 very experienced managers. That's why they've gotten those results, not because of their pitch. That stat is based on this season alone, and as always stats can be made to look like anything you want. Dig a bit deeper and over the last 3 seasons, since they were promoted, they have picked up 82 points at home and 38 away (68.33%). The first year up it was 32 at home and 8 away, (80%), and that doesn't take into account any points picked up at Livingstone or Accies in those seasons. For comparison, we have picked up 63 points at home and 60 away during the same period (51.22%). Their pitch most definitely gives them an advantage, in my opinion. And yes, I am sitting at home bored, which is why I bothered working it out.

It's not about excuses, it's about the astro making games unwatchable even when you win. I'd struggle to think of 3 great games I have ever seen on plastic. Is that not more to do with Livi, Killie and Accies all spending years setting up to shit fest their way to points?

My main thought is that similar to the last game at FP, McInnes will set them up defensively and we will just lump long high ball’s at them as our passing is poor to say the least. Also I’d like to see our distribution being quicker, in a forward direction and for players to look to the left rather than constantly turning to the right hand side all the time. The amount of times Wilson was standing in acres of space yesterday only to be constantly ignored was ridiculous. Wilson sits out wide maybe as a tactic to spread the other teams so we can feed balls up the channel to maswanisie cause it seems to be working for the wee man, his first touch lately has been subline 👍

Jym Bob
Got to agree. Wilson consistently gets pulled into the middle. Aston`s distribution is so frustrating at times. He should take some tips from our young academy goalie (Matty on loan with East Kilbride) on how to find a teammate quickly and accurately from hand and feet. Kmcalpin
Killie don't like 65+ aged fans do they? £22 seems a wee bit steep.

Jym Bob
Aye right. That £22 will buy me a couple of fish suppers on Sat. when up at Hibs, so I'm sorry, but I'll just give the plastic pitch (at £22) a miss. So COYW!!! texanwellfan
The players should be right up for this game. Huge 3 points for us if we can take it. Will have us knocking on the door for third spot, especially if Celtic beat Utd in the other game that evening.

Particularly with the catalogue of injuries we have had. Looking back, our best ever total (in the 3 points for a win era) is 70 points the year we finished 2nd with McCall. He also did a 62 and a 64. Obviously all achieved when the dead club were in the lower leagues. I think we would all agree there is still plenty of room for improvement, but if we could match that total in the second half if the season, it would be some feat and a huge carrot for the players. Stuwell2
Personally I think we will be lucky to hit 50 points - especially if we stay in the top six come the split - but would love to have someone ram this prediction down my throat come the end of the season. I think that horrible toothless run of the Ross County,Hibs and Dundee game will come back to haunt us but I hope not. I shall go 1-0 either way won't be much in it but I will 100 percent be putting my money on a red card and penalty got that feeling about it. Toxteth O'Grady Posted yesterday at 08:39 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:39 AM It looks like the temperature at kick off is set to be around -5C. Fans are being asked to part with £27 (or £30 on the gate!) to sit outside in these conditions. Coming on the back of Christmas, and at the start of a run of consecutive away games, no wonder we have hardly sold any tickets.

At least the sub zero temperatures will kill the weeds on the pitch.
