mio
Injuries aside, there should have been enough for us to get through that today. Utterly pathetic display. Just another one of many turgid performances over the past couple of months.
wellfan
Out of the Scottish Cup again and looking like we’re going to start dropping down the league table. Caldwell needs to get rid of Kettlewell now before he’s allowed to further run us into the ground.

They’ve spent their hard-earned ££ and turned in great numbers only to be served up something you could see in a under-12 game down the local part. Sorry but IMO he has taken us as far as he can with his lack of coaching ability the board really need to be seriously looking to get him out the door. I still can’t fathom why the guy in the other dugout today couldn’t get a gig with us. Since he arrived at Perth he has got them playing a decent possession and passing game and using the full width of the park. Us?! We are still persisting with a form of football that couldn’t win us a raffle.
wellsince75
With the exception of 3 games we’ve been horrendous since the semi exit . in the last 14+ games we’ve averaged 2 shots on goal and conceded twice as much as scored we had an excellent first round of games and since then been other than a couple exceptions been utter tosh Annoying this result isn’t a surprise

grizzlyg
Embarrassing, players also need to look at themselves but hey!! It will be the officials fault, defended him loads but sorry Stuart not any more
Orinoco
That second half was appalling. This 5 at the back needs to go. Injuries aside, which does not help, does not excuse the same approach every game. To many players are coasting. A fresh approach is needed. Another season of do enough to stay in the league. That’s all we strive to do now. And while yes, that is and should be our number one priority, our Cup record and the amount of exits to absolute dross is nothing short of shameful. It’s all well and good saying “ah but we can focus on the league form now” but the Cups, especially the Scottish Cup is something that can provide some hope, some enthusiasm for the support. Not for Motherwell though. Another year, another rotten draw, yet still a big travelling support and yet again another let down.

pretzel
Pathetic performance yet again, I can take getting beat but it's scary how often we come away from games having not even put a glove on the opposition, and even scarier that some of these games have been against some right gash teams. I actually feel for the fans that travelled. If a big travelling away support can't at least get you hyped up for a game what will.
twistandshout1983
Absolutely gutted , but not surprised at all The 34 year wait now becomes another year , anyone who thinks finishing in a European position is better than getting to Hampden each to their own , but don’t say it right now

Too many players simply not good enough...odonnel, kaleta , davor, moses, balmer, wilson all bang average if that. Only Nicholson and Slattery today looked like footballers...probably done well to avoid relegation but give it time. Still we are a fan owned Club with gates of 4000...sleepwalking to relegation.
El Grew
That’s us now played 3 clubs who were at the bottom of the league table and in dire form and we haven’t laid a glove on any of them - Hibs. Hearts, St. Johnstone. Since we beat St. Johnstone on 9th November we’ve played 12 games- W3, D2, L7, scored 13 goals, conceded 24. And we’ve now only had 1 win in our last 8 games. Anybody that thinks that we’re not in trouble and heading for the bottom 3/4 is sadly deluded.
Orinoco
Scunnered. On reflection that was yet again not good enough. The club really need to somehow get some positivity around the club. Good teams work dam hard on and off the ball. Our team jog about and point. robsterwood
Time to go for Kettlewell. Playing zero football. Tactics abysmal. 1 shot on target against a team without a win in 9 and a poor defence. Gifting possession to every team with high balls to small strikers hoping they can keep the ball. You look at the League Cup Semi Final and the excitement ahead of that and the crowd we took there and you could see what it meant to the support and the club. Nobody is telling me that ‘Europe’ is better than that.

Playing teams that have already beat us with much bigger budgets. Times changed since 91. Europe would show we done well in league. Though yet to see this and looking unlikely. Europe can let us access further finances. I would much rather have the 3 points next week.

Nobody is telling me that ‘Europe’ is better than that. I've actually never been to watch Motherwell away in Europe in all my time of being a fan. Surely it can be a bit both? It's gutting to be out of the cup at this stage but getting to Europe does mean a lot to some fans. You could see what it meant to fans of clubs who did get there this season

All I would say is that I see Europe as a little bonus for a good league season, nothing more. That season under Stuart McCall where we were finishing 2nd playing lovely stuff, gubbing Hibs on a Friday night with Faddy running the show, beating Celtic twice and Higdon banging in the goals was brilliant at the time and we got Europe as a result of that. Yet the actual European ‘experience’ was one big anti-climax as we lost 0-3 on aggregate without laying a glove on an unheard of side in Kuban Krasnador. And in that case we actually reported that we lost money rather than the opposite.
