texanwellfan
More looking forward to a two week break after this game than I am the game. Anton got a list of injured/sick players and when we are expecting them ready to play again? I’m hoping we get some back for the County game

wellfan
Frail confirming that Mair has the same injury as Oxborough confirms for me that someone has indeed placed a hex over the club. Or perhaps Kettlewell has been breaking mirrors to save him from taking his rage out on the match officials.

It has been worse a great number of times compared to now as well but obviously it’s been highlighted this week. i just have never got the booing? The proper effort and foamy mouthed lunacy it takes to do it must be exhausting. anyway I’m going along on Sunday and I will not be booing and I very much doubt I’ll be cheering either. I actually don't think their is anything wrong with booing - at the end of a match. I don't think booing or shouting at players during a game is any use at all. However at the end of a utterly turgid performance, of which we see many, there is nowt wrong showing you displeasure, in my eyes. Others are free to disagree. The ones that baffle me are the ones that stand and applaud at FT when we've been fuckin horsed without so much as a single shot on target and played hoofball all night. Not before time.

Its unreasonable to expect huge changes on Sunday but a few tweaks won't go amiss.

It, therefore, seems that regularly conceding 70% possession was the result of us just being total shit due to Kettleball. However, at least Kettlewell now has a highlight reel demonstrating the art of turning an active possession approach into a passive one.

Apart from the odd success here and there, it's generally been a total clusterfuck since late 2023.

Correct and we'll see the usual South Stand lower crammed full way beyond capacity due to the usual doubling up at the gates. It happens every time they come here and no doubt everywhere else they go as well but nothing will be done or said because speaking out against Celtic just isn't worth the hassle that they get in return for it. Never mind that all 9 matches we've won this season we had less than 45% possession and every time we've had the majority of the possession we've lost. When you have less technical players having the majority of the possession isn't always the best thing - one of the reasons St Mirren convincingly beat Aberdeen 3-0 with 25 % possession last week. Sure you'll be a lot happier if we don't get results with higher possession stats.

According to Frail, surrendering possession wasn’t a deliberate tactic. It just continued to happen because we’re generally shit. And if it was a deliberate tactic, which it wasn’t, then that’s fine, so long as we have the players to make it work effectively and to score more goals than the opposition, which we don’t.
