Our New Manager, who do we want?

So the fans (WS) do have two votes to cast for or against any appointment, if it even works like that. Perhaps they discuss candidates and come to a consensus on best applicant? I assume the 2 WS board members should be representing the wishes of the members or were they selected and trusted to act on behalf of the WS in cases like this, without the need to poll the members?
No hidden agenda or anything, I was just wondering how it works and if it has worked like this in the past? I think on some previous occasions the board has been called out for taking the easy/cheap way out or of “jobs for the boys” but at least there is a voice there from the fans although not a majority.

I don't care what club a player played for, I just want best person for the job.  I wouldn't have a problem with Brown or Lennon, both would set high standards and not tolerate slackers.

Anyway let's wait and see.  Beat sellik on Sunday and Frail gets the gig till end of season

Not sure about their standards

Don't be daft they were elected to make the best decisions as they see fit with a bit of input from society board probably

FFS we will be asking society members to vote on tetley or pg tips for the boardroom tea next.

Really! Isn’t that what the last guy done and got pelters for it?? Anyway, if I knew how it worked I wouldn’t have asked and since you ended your paragraph with “probably” it would seem you’re not 100% sure either.

Ideally Paul Lambert but he'll probably have his sights set on a bigger job. My rouge/left-field shout would be Owen Coyle. I think it will probably end up being one of the Australians tho based on the fact the board have been looking at making a foreign appointment for years and this is probably the lowest risk oppertunity they'll have to do it given how far from 12th we are.

Lambert has some job with Dortmund where he gets to live in Australia

Coyle manages an Indian team after leaving queens park a couple of years ago.

Lambert in any case was unlikely. I forgot Coyle went to Queens Park not that long ago and didn't do particularly well. Graham Arnold is the only name I've seen declare interest publicly and I've heard rumblings via twitter we've approached County to speak to Cowie not sure on reliabilty of that source tho

What about Naismith? Done well the first season with Hearts but quickly jettisoned this season and not given a chance to turn things around.

Not against it but his recruitment during his time at Hearts was quite poor so I'd be concerned at him overseeing the huge squad rebuild that is inevitable in the summer.

I don’t recall too much other than they done well last season and didn’t seem to get a chance to turn things around this season after a bad start

There's always one or two that get themselves linked with a job just to get their name out, and that's what Arnold strikes me as. He has had good success, and I have to imagine he's out of our range. I don't know much about his style though.

Not sure what owen coyle has done in the last 10 years to deserve to be linked.

No chance of McGlynn, he's months away from promoting falkirk, and took a few years to build that side.

Brown is building experience, and is probably viable, but he did sign a new contract when he rejected St J.

Naismith had shankland to thank, then rue. He did have the curse of Europe to deal with, but his recruitment wasn't great.

Lennon seems more like an until the end of the season thing, but there's a section of our fans that will be sick in their mouths.

There will be a few of the media darlings linked as well, and at least one who has no chance will rule himself out because if the fan abuse. I'll nominate Kevin Thomson for that spot.

This is a chance for a brand new executive team to put their stamp on things, and it's a good opportunity for someone to come in, figure things out, scrape us the points we need, and hit the summer with a clean slate. However, this has Frail until the end of the season written all over it.

To be fair there is some merit in that scenario, on the assumption that he will recognise the mistakes SK made and change our style to get the best from the players we have available.

Steady the ship and see us clear of relegation hopefully still top 6, then bring in a new face in the summer for the required rebuild.

Are we confident that he didn't fully back or suggest most of those mistakes in the first place, given that (officially) we're not managerless as a result of how the team is playing?

We have something like 30 first team players - really don’t see us adding to that .

frail I hope is short term, given our last 2 appointments were internal with SH and SK I’m hoping that we go external.

by external not just beyond the club but also beyond the usual suspects that lazily get ushered .

theres so bloody good managers out there - majority are currently employed but won’t always cost a fortune to buy out a mgrs contract.

take our time and look to get someone in before the end of the season.

I hope not. I think he should get a couple of games the same as Kettlewell did - and a decision should be made after that
