I wouldn't put it past Wallace making up the American job that Davie applied for before the plug was pulled.

Indeed. Just re watched the highlights on You Tube and on being interviewed after the game the first thing out his mouth was about what an atmosphere the Rangers fans made it. Utter tosspot of a manager.

At that time tho, our Board would have been populated by 60 somethings Protestant businessmen and am sure the Union Flag was flown on matchdays back then (take from that what you like). 1 1

Every club in Scotland flew the union flag then apart from one despicable shower in the east of Glasgow.

Reckon that comment says more about you mate than the board members at the time. Why wouldn't they fly the Union Flag?

wellfan
I guess we’ll be waiting a while to find out as the CEO seems to be in mourning instead of doing his job. 1
Kmcalpin
I received a brief update on the recruitment process, by email this morning, from the Society. It doesn't say much but is welcome and attempts to bring the narrative back onto the stright and narrow. I would have thought however that it was more the responsibility of the CEO to have done that. Mad Dog
Considering the relatively comfortable position that SK left us in, would it be worth sticking with Stevie Frail until the end of the season when the pool of potential applicants will be greater. Edit: David Martindale has ruled himself out.
Toxteth O'Grady
https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/ryan-lowe-next-motherwell-manager-34588927 Ryan Lowe is next Motherwell manager contender but Billy Davies has board support over emotional Fir Park return The 46-year-old was previously linked with the Rangers job and has been out of work since leaving Preston Ryan Lowe is under consideration for the vacant Motherwell job. The former Preston North End manager has been put forward to the Fir Park board. The 46-year-old - previously linked with the Rangers job - has been out of football since he left Deepdale at the start of the season and has emerged as a stronger contender to replace Stuart Kettlewell, who resigned earlier this week. Motherwell chief executive officer Brian Caldwell is currently taking applications and shortlisting potential candidates. Caldwell has admitted that they haven’t been short of applicants from all over the globe. Caldwell confirmed: “We had over 50 applicants in 24 hours. “We have had interest from all over the world. “It is now a case of going through the information received and to try to sift through them and take it to the next step.” Assistant Steve Frail and coach Jon Obika will take the team for the weekend clash with Celtic but Caldwell admitted that is very much a short-term measure. He added: “Ideally, you get them in sooner rather than later. “It is also really important we get the right person. “If that takes longer than our ideal time scale then it is more important to get the right person.” Motherwell’s board have indicated that experience will be important in this next appointment. Former Motherwell boss Billy Davies also has support on the board over a possible return. The likes of former Celtic boss Neil Lennon, Tam Courts, who led Dundee United into Europe, and ex-Hearts head coach Stevie Naismith all feature highly in the bookmaker’s odds. Falkirk boss John McGlynn is another that has been mentioned although Motherwell would need to pay compensation on that front.
