Our New Manager, who do we want?

I hadnt really considered McCall.

He was a lovely fella and seemed to be a good man manager, but he did have quite a bit of money at his disposal at that time. We went with a smaller squad but were paying more in wages/bonuses to attract a better quality player.

Would he be able to achieve the same success on the current budget?

Would he have refreshed his ideas enough to justify giving him another shot?

Maybe he could turn Davor into the modern day Stuart Carswell!

Ultimately, Id still prefer Ryan Lowe (I think) based only on his Wikipedia page!

I think it's maybe time for stu Carswell to return as player manager..always assumed this would be the natural progression.

Not even warm pal.   Though I must confess Mcghee's first season with us saw us play amazing football plus a lot of fans forget how much he carried that club through the Phil tragedy

Expand

Also mcghee had us fitter than a butchers dug with 2 training sessions a day

players not happy but feck them . us normal workies do 7-30 - 4-30

not 9-12 or as mcghee had them doing 9-3

get it done new guy 👍

When McCall was the manager he had a very settled team every week. Injuries few and far between. That makes a big difference to any team.

Yes we did - almost like we had a good signing policy back then.  😊

Mcall did really well for first couple of seasons and a good guy.

i can’t see him being the long term answer .

Lowe or Evatt for me only names I have seen that's peaked my interest. If we could get one of them I would be happy.

Said it before would love David Healy to get it he has done everything with Linfield they are like 15 points clear so he could be tempted if we dangled the carrot for a change.

Like you, I've been impressed with Healy's track record. My only concern is that managing a club with one of the biggest (if not the biggest) budgets in the league trying to win titles is different to managing when there are a good half dozen clubs with more money than you and the aim is survival or midtable mediocrity. Ask Postecoglou...

They'll be falling back on their normal recruitment strategy and hiring SK.

If that happens then let's see how he would cope with the abuse then,  their fans miles more demanding. They are all stuck in the early 80's and expecting league titles and European trophies
