For me and I shall stick with this the Irish market is a market I hope we are seriously looking at plethora of talent in the Northern and Southern leagues worth a punt.

Also getting a manager or assistant/ coach that knows those leagues well would benefit us on the player side of things maybe a few weeks could bring in.

And no I don't mean Tommy Wright lol he has had his day in the Scottish sunshine.

Just about every manager that's moved here from the Irish leagues has been a total disaster. I'm struggling to even think of 1 success?

Our signings from there have been pretty poor as well. Blaney being the most "successful" says a lot.

Tommy Wright won the cup with St Johnstone sure Killie wasnt a success but his cup win was just over 10 years ago.

Poor signings because maybe poor recruitment set up.Maybe that's what's needing changed cause it seems to be a theme season after season more misses than hits.

One thing that will be interesting is seeing if the new man injuries as many players in training or whether it really was SK's methods that were crocking our team.

Great minds think alike or fools seldom differ. I was thinking exactly the same thing. This will be interesting. Our long running injury crisis could, of course, be a random one off.

I thought Wright had moved to St Johnstone from England, so aye that's fair enough.

Stephen Kenny, Pat Fenlon and Ian Baraclough were the names I had in mind, all pretty terrible. St Mirren had the guy Kearney for about 3 months who kept them up in the play-offs then left to go back to being a PE teacher. Don't know if he's viewed as a success or not.

Just had a wee look. Ketsbia hasnt managed in the UK at all. At the risk of sounding like Farage, im struggling to see what he brings to the role and how he would work with Scottish lads who may be of an inferior quality than those he has managed before. Doubtful he will have local player knowledge, even UK knowledge now.

I think he was a hard cunt back in his playing days so we could always use him to knock some game into our lads, & he could hold his own with the boo boys.

Yep that is certain,  be no fans giving him verbals, he would take his boots off and take a run at them!! 😅

The article is a bit vague.

It says we have a 2 manager shortlist and the headline alludes that one of them is Ketsbaia, but the article doesnt actually say that. It says Motherwell were impressed with his CV. Thats a whole lot different than he has been interviewed and impressed there.

Yeah I agree more than likely they needed to fill out the article a bit so filled it with something that isn't going to happen. It would be an utterly left field and some appointment but would enjoy listening to reasoning behind it lol.

It has been pretty hush hush about the whole process but I have a feeling the new man might be in the stands watching the Ross County game.

Of all the names linked with the job Neil Lennon is probably the most likely I have seen that might get it.

Are you saying The Sun are making it up? How dare you. A quality newspaper with journalists that spoke so highly about us a few weeks back.

Yup.....sarcasm of the highest order from moi 🤪

Oran Kearney is director of football at Coleraine now, with Dean Shiels as their main manager. Just had a huge cash injection from an investor and are snapping up some of the top players in NIFL like Joel Cooper and Levi Ives.

If he wasn't on track to win the league at a canter with Linfield, I'd have said David Healy would likely have been on the radar. Tiernan Lynch who turned down St Johnstone has moved to Derry City , with Dom Thomas as one of his first signings for the LOI getting back up and running.

Damien Duff has been doing good things at Shelbourne too but wouldn't imagine he's have been in contention.

Outside of those names, there's not a great amount of good/great managers over here, or certainly none you'd expect to be on for a job in Scotland.
