Our New Manager, who do we want?

In Robinson, Alexander and Kettlewell we chose to appoint Autocratic managers (no idea about Hammell's style other than blind panic).  Studies show that the Autocratic manager has initial success but medium to long term failure.  Are we therefore surprised that we are now again in the failure period.

I would suggest, as we have a small buffer above the relegation spots, that we can afford to go for an "Auld Heed" (in it for the long term) who will manage the team and involve the coaches in a more democratic fashion. This should achieve the necessary response from the players to get the required points for safety. In addition this should break the 2 year cycle of boom, bust and sacking.

Robinson wasn't sacked and neither was Kettlewell or Alexander. Robinson walked. Alexander came to a mutual agreement with the board and Kettlewell walked. 

I also don't think we can lump all three of those mangers together. For all their faults - Robbo took us to two cup finals. European football under Alexander and a cup semi under Kettlewell. 

I think autocratic is a bit strong tbh given the shite we've been served up under some other managers

That will be the Alexander European adventure where we were beaten home and away by those giants of the European game, Sligo rovers and the Kettlewell cup semi where we threw away a half time lead and were feckin brutal 2nd half and deservedly lost.

And you say we were served up shite under other managers, those two should be top of the list,  especially Alexander.

I will be pretty disappointed if we don't have one in by Monday give the new boss at least a good number of days to look at the players and work with them.

We've been served up shite by plenty managers over the last 40 odd years I've been watching Motherwell - my issue was them being called "autocratic" 

Robinson too apparently. Quite aware of the issues you raised in your post - I watched it too.

I'd be amazed if we had someone in that quick. If we offered them the job today it would likely take them more than a week to agree on the contract details - and we won't have finished interviewing everyone yet.

We need a helping hand. Any coach could see what the fans watched ever week. 
3 defenders who could not defend and a goalkeeper who made the most saves in the league. NOT WORKING!

The ball surrendered ever week to the opposition therefore we can’t create chances. NOT WORKING 

1 or 2 shots at goal poor goal threat from our 1 striker NOT WORKING 

Players playing out of position and poor substitutions most weeks. 

We all represent Motherwell Football Club even the supporters and can all be better. 
SK has gone ……..we need help and quickly. That help will arrive this week and things will be better on and off the park.
