3pts tomorrow would be great for Michael and Ahmet.  Desperate for these guys to succeed, come across as nice guys determined to bring success. I can imagine the fitness levels will be getting stronger

I think we are going down - I've never once said this about any Motherwell team. Our defence is crap and we don't have a goal scorer. Very good luck to them. I really do hope we pull this off. But I think there's more to this than Kettlewell. We scrape along the bottom more or less every season - and we pull it out of the bag at the last minute. Obviously there have been times when this hasn't happened - but we make life difficult for ourselves when other teams who compare to us don't. It's baffling tbh 

I really hope I'm wrong - but I don't think we would survive a play off.

Who have we got that can score a goal right now. The difference between this and the last two seasons was Bair and Van Veen and players from the midfield chipping in with goals. We don't have that now. That's the bottom line. Unless someone finds their shooting boots we are going down

Goal scorers need to get the ball before they can score goals. The tactics that the bellend had us playing made it extremely difficult to score goals. But thankfully he has gone and I think the new manager will instill confidence in the squad and we will improve,  although we lost on Saturday the stats showed that we had more possession and more attempts on goal so after one game we can see improvement already .

I don't understand your negativity as your were always positive about bellend even after he had lied his way out the door . The vast majority on here and every well fan I know was glad to see the back of that charlatan. Try and be positive and have patience with the new manager as he has inherited  a squad of players that many are not up to the standard required for this league. I certainly am looking forward to see what he can achieve.

I've seen quite a few relegation teams over the years, but I don't see it in this one at the moment. Even just the fact they will play hard to the final whistle is a good sign.

I won't be surprised if we're 8th or 9th, but if the new gaffer can get a higher tempo, higher energy team playing that might help compensate a bit for the wobbly defence.

I really do hope so. I'll be devastated if we go down. Just not sure we have the strikers to get us out of this - what do I know. I just want tenth. That will do.

I don't have an issue with the new manager. I'll back every manager to the end. The issue is with our squad. As I said in other posts any other time we were struggling if our defence was shit we had players scoring goals to get us out of it - but that's not happened this season 

I've never not backed a manager. I just think so many things have gone wrong for us to date I don't know how we are going to get out of it

How I feel about our team right now has nothing to do with Kettlewell. If you think I'm upset because we have a new manager - that's not the case. I just don't see where the goals are coming from. No more than that. Hopefully Stam will be back soon and scoring

I much preferred your 5-0 win prediction on the Dundee thread :). 

Lots there that I agree with and when I look at the squad the majority of better players are those that were around before SK - with exception of Gordon.  I do think the +30 players we've signed under his tenure reflects poorly on SK. 

Our signing policy for me is horrendous. and has been since GA era I.e since Dawes.  Head of recruitment lives down South and recruits in the main a bunch of journeyman who care zero from the club.  We've done from 70/30% Scotts players to 70/30 English players and I just don't see many players who really care or are any better standard that we can pick up here. 

For me we lack both talent and guts.  Not a good mix ,  at best it's squeaky bum time until the end of the season.

It's just bloody hard going through this every bloody season - in my defence I'm old and I've seen this too many times. We just make things so much harder than they need to be. Every season 

I really hope Wimmer turns this around.

Like you I have seen us relegated a few times, and seen us escape on a technicality a few times as well. But those last games under Kettlewell were has bad as I can remember suffering and I think it speaks volumes that not one fan I know was surprised at how poor we were. The signs have been there for months. The lack of a regular goal scorer combined with the year on year drop in quality has finally come home to roost. Kettlewell's speculative signings hastened the decline and if Wimmer gets us out of the mess we are in he should be Manager of the Year.

I hope you you are spot on with your positive forecast but I think 8th or 9th is a reach. Wellgirl is right to be worried.

I really really hope he can turn it around. I think I'm just sad that I have never seen us relegated in my lifetime - been going to fir park since 1987. It hurts the thought of it. I actually think I'm more worried at the fact we might lose a play off. 

I remember the last play off. I was on holiday in Spain and my mum phoned me to tell me the score and I was like wtf! 

I think thats it for me tbh. The fact that if we got into a play off we'd probably lose it

Fuck knows what's wrong with my happy clapper self. Hopefully all will be well tomorrow night

As we seen on saturday it's very easy to lose a game 1-0,we need to start cutting out the stupid goals we're conceding to give us half a chance for the rest of the season and allow us to fall on the right side of they tight games.if we can tighten up at the back and stama can stay fit this time then we should do enough not to be involved in a relegation battle.tomorrow is huge though no doubt about it.
