That said, I think he was overrated and made out to be something he's not. I always thought he was Aberdeen/Hearts/Hibs level, not English Championsip. His attitude and work ethic was second to none. What ever status he achieves in the game he'll have worked hard for it and will have deserved it. However, talent wise he is limited; not bad but limited. He had great spells with us but also spells where he was anonymous. Great defensively and very useful in a midfield battle, but not so good in the final third. We could use his qualities right now though. I'm probably in a minority of one here and will put on my bassinet now! I think what you say is fair and reasonable and I too always felt he had a limit on his football ability. However, I always felt he made the most of the attributes he did have and always worked his socks off when he played for us. I always felt he would be best used as a defence protecting midfielder, operating in the spaces between defence and midfield. And like you, I’d have him back.

Hes not a bad player but nowhere near as good as some Motherwell fans would have you believe. I watched him against Kilmarnock and frankly he did fuck all of note. That said he wont need to reach any heights to dominate our midfield.
wellfan Posted yesterday at 12:30 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:30 AM Wee Al was class for us, and he thoroughly deserved his move to Luton in the Championship at that point.

Agreed but I wonder what his goal celebration will be on Saturday especially if it's at the away end 🤔

weeyin Posted yesterday at 12:10 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:10 PM I hope he does a big knee slide right in front of the Bois just to see the seethe on here. I have zero issues with any player celebrating a goal, regardless of who he used to play for. It's one of the joys of any footballers' career. I kinda get the Dennis Law goal but for the most part I’m ok with them celebrating as Long as it’s not a GIRUY celebration. Not as if the ‘well fans will be muting any celebrations if we score ‘cause Campbell is in their team !!
grizzlyg Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM If a former player scores and celebrates with own fans it doesn't bother me. They pay their wages. The best celebrations of a player scoring against former club was adebayor sprinting whole length of pitch to goad arsenal fans and Craig beattie scoring for hearts v sellik and running behind goal with top off.....classics 🤣🤣

grizzlyg Posted yesterday at 05:45 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:45 PM What we need tomorrow is a very vocal passionate away support to get right behind the new management and players. I expect a reaction as all players on trial especially those out of contract in summer. If they don't step up it's bye bye....I mean auf wiedersehen
weeyin Posted yesterday at 06:24 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:24 PM Unless the ref speaks German, the new management team will be able to give him pelters without fear of a yellow card.
