When you sign players like AP for a six figure sum to basically destroy his confidence playing with tactics that is not even close to use the player properly that in itself is all on Kettlewell.

A total waste of club funds of the highest order.I really don't get what Kettlewell done in the Summer transfer window other than set every penny we had on fire signing players like Watt and Taveras from rival teams freeing up a wage for them is a total joke and look what returns we have got for that......Zero!

Kettlewell has the final say mind don't forget that so really it was all on him to say no or yes.

As for the club and funds the Lennon Miller money is the Investment let's be honest here I don't see the Well Society coming up with anything on that front.

Stam is injured yes? Watt might have worked out but didnt. Theres been a lot of factors

Im pretty much at my limit. Im not going to apportion blame but I dont think I can suffer another season like this

I give to the well society too but Im seriously re thinking that as well

Everything is just a shit show right now

I am sorry but give me strength. They fling the support under the bus over the Kettlewell issue (and I was a huge supporter of his) and then they give the new manager irn bru! While dafties like me pay into the society

Maybe say sorry to the fans they launched under the bus - we are fucking sinking,

I shall say this aswell three managers have left and Daws is still at the club hmmmmm.

Yeah I shall be honest the Well Society is something I have never bought into we don't have the fanbase to really make a proper difference the only way to to do that is a new owner but I think a billionaire could come in for us  tomorrow and it would get a no veto cause they would want to money from the ground sale lol.

Sure I am not privvy to Well Society updates and such but I never see anything on here about investment progress it's so quiet after the glossy pdf and Erik was defeated.

Sorry to be negative on that front.

I completely agree, I dont think the well society are cutting it just now - and I doubled my payments to them recently. Someone on pie and bov had a dig at me saying what about the investment when I mentioned something on here - they put out this glossy brochure as you say and .... nothing

It is great to be fan owned but we are sinking

The glossy PDF was glossy, said very little that couldn’t be sourced off chatGPT. However, it served its purpose and got rid of the perceived threat of the time. People believed what they wanted to believe.

Sufficient time has elapsed for a progress report.

It was a pile of shite - completely embarrassing and nothing has been done since that was put out.

I have been paying into the well society since 2017 and when I had very little to spare, not good enough on any level - and if I hear the word "refreshed " one more time

I will also say this. I am sure the folk on the well society board do a good job unpaid - but we are in freefall, handing the new manager irn bru just seems flippant under these circumstances

Yeah - they saw off Erik, job done, unfortunately we have no one else offering us anything

Say what you want but SOD must be dropped. That effort to jump for the goal was fukin embarrassing.  He's either too old to jump, too unfit, can't  defend in the box (we know that)or just lost it at this leval. One mistake in this league always costs us the game. The manager will have sussed him and Halliday out today I think he must come up with something fresh. An uphill struggle with time running , out roll on Wednesday.

As I said previously, it’ll take at least 18 months for Wimmer to undo the damage Kettlewell has done.

The only positive from yesterday is that Wimmer got to see some of that shite with his own eyes.

He shouldn't be a part of a back three it's as simple as that Wimmer can't have watched enough games back cause I have never seen SOD have a good game playing in this role.

Hopefully his eyes were opened a bit yesterday and some changes are made for the Dundee game but I agree the mess Kettlewell cleared out he hasn't had heaped it back up again before he left.

It also rankles that some of our players dont seem to give a **** when there are fans who scrape together money to watch them. I dont believe this is all on Kettlewell. These are professional players who need to get their finger out and soon. We are garbage from the front to the back and this isnt all on the defence. Other teams can score and we cant for some reason

There's a thread over on P&B discussing similar and unfortunately its endemic in the Scottish game, where -in general- they give the impression of doing the minimum required to get by.

Managers that come in to try and raise standards/culture get riduculed.

The 'best dressing room bantz ever' seems to take priority over knuckling down and aspiring to continual improvement - Theres obviously a healthy balance that can be struck.

As we saw in McGhees first tenure, you are at an immediate advantage in this league if you get fitter and sharper.

We like comparing ourselves to the EPL, but its entirely noticeable that down there they are absolute athletes and units.

Generalising and simplifying, but it does seem a thing in Scottish football.

Very good point I really don't think we have ever looked sharp at all this season ie Wilson his fitness is pretty shocking for a professional football player he looks like he is always blowing before the end of the first half.

I don't know what Kettlewell and co have been doing in training with they but fitness wise we are so poor.

With regards to SOD I've not been shouting about him, but its noticable this season that his decision making has been poor - A confidence thing, I don't know?

There have been a catalogue of errors leading to goals.

Yesterday he's wrong side of Dalby, he needs to sort that and get closer/disrupt the header (without fouling/jersey pulling etc).

He seems more effective when hes either backs to the wall, or if he's being used in a more attacking sense as a WB/RB, although I think the issue he may face now is he's at an age where his legs are going.

He's a seasoned Pro and under Clarke's direction played well, so hopefully Wimmer can get him to click.

Just watched the highlights and although we looked poor defensively, we did look more threatening than usual in attack.

For United's goal I don't think Balcombe looked too clever (not blaming him by the way). A good commanding keeper would have come out for it, as United's did later in the video.

I thought he played fairly well. Nothing spectacular, but also nothing to suggest why he has been frozen out all season.

This reflects what was said about him when he was signed. "A steady 7/10; rarely 6/10 and rarely 8/10".

Thought we were much better yesterday despite the defeat, anyone that was Tynecastle, Rugby Park, Easter Road and/or McDiarmid Park last month surely has to agree (despite the fact we avoided defeat at RP).

I also thought we were very unlucky not to get a point, and all the stats seem to back that up. Just couldnt create a clear cut chance in the last 30 mins when we were well on top.

That being said we still have some big issues and clearly need to start picking up points asap. Surely after that yesterday SOD needs to be benched, getting to the point where he’s costing us on average a goal a game with his poor defending. Think Halliday is the other one I’d drop to try and get more legs in the middle of the park, but will be interesting to see what Wimmer does.

Im guessing the majority of posters on here werent at the game today as I feel I was watching something totally different from everyone else.

First half I thought we competed well enough and were much less passive than under Kettlewell. We werent as composed on the ball as we might have been but we still created a few chances with Maswanhise in particular coming very close. United had more possession but the goal apart, which could have been defended better, they didnt threaten us that much.

Second half was much better. We controlled the ball more and put pressure on the United defence and they had to put bodies on the line to keep us out.

United did create some chances on the break but Balcombe and our defence dealt with it for the most part.

Yes we lost the game today, but it was far more entertaining to watch and I left with a hope and a belief that things are going ro get better.

Thats lightyears ahead of the way Ive felt for most of the season.

The performance was far from perfect and all our weaknesses and deficiencies are still there for all to see. But if folks dont think that was an improvement today? I dont know what to say.

PS Lennon Miller maybe wasnt great today in a creative sense. But he worked his socks off and his interceptions were absolutely vital at times. He dealt with Alan Campbell physically to the extent Campbell wa substituted. Maybe cut the boy some slack and appreciate what he does bring instead of what he didnt today.

I always find it funny that you get certain posters continually telling everybody how poor we are, we’re getting relegated, won’t win another game etc. Then they seem to expect us to beat the team sitting in 4th place away from home and start all the wailing again when we don’t.

One thing I hope Wimmer sees is SOD is shouldn't be playing anywhere in a back three.

Having witnessed the highlights now that effort to try head the ball for the goal is shocking my 5ft grandad couldn't have jumped higher than him.

Nah I think teams are seeing this as a weak point in our three at the back and abusing it with good results.

you can add Halliday to that mix , struts about looking like a player and actually doing fuck all.

This 100%. I have come to the conclusion that for some, the melodrama and angst the knocking of the team, individual players, the manager, the club is actually their happy place. That is the sport.

If there cannot be a doze of positivity, optimism and patience when a new management team comes in then people are not in it for the good vibes.

People got what they wanted. Kettlewell is gone. The performance yesterday was better if only slightly. Realism yes. Perpetual pessimism, not for me.

Spring is just around the corner. We move to Wednesday night with some hope that a result is possible.

teams at the arse end of the league have beaten us when we were 4th / 5th . / 6th / 7th / 8th .. and the bottom team beat us two weeks on the trot when we were 5th. In this league everyone up to 2nd is beatable unless of course its us they are facing , 1 win in 11 is absolutely abysmal.

TBF you’re one of the people I laugh at quite regularly.
