I said this a wee while back but my biggest fear isn't who the new manager would be, but the fact that what they have to work with just isn't good enough. Previously when a manager had been replaced mid season they have at least had a squad of a decent enough standard to play with, this time around we are asking Wimmer to polish a turd.

Now now yoshi

The polishing a shit is ma phrase 😜

Do we have a medicine and sports science department? If we do then a review is needed. Far to many injuries. Mind you, since he arrived Blaney seldom plays a run of games before being injured. As for Nicholsen. Think his career is gone now. Risky signing that's not worked out.

When the going gets tough it seems it's easy to get injured.

I like wee Nicholson but seems really susceptible to injuries now, that was him being eased back too.

All we need is for him  to get enough shine on it to last till May, then we can get rid of the dross in the summer and he can rebuild the team in his own style.

Only if the season finished tonight.

If we're guaranteed 10th otherwise, that is a lot of dross we'll need to be watching until May.

Sacrifice I am prepared to take ahead of major reboot in the summer....or should that be Das Boot!!🤣

Though I would happily take a turn of fortunes and pushing for top 6

Looking at the bottom half of the league table, as well as considering recent form and events, this game could not be any more of a six pointer. Anything less than a victory will only worsen the death spiral.

100% cannot afford to lose this game or we are in deep shit.

A win gives the new manager some breathing space to figure things out and keeps us in touch with the top 6.

It really couldnt be any more important.

I feel we say this every season now, season on season in September we think we have a strong team, then by March we are desperate to get to end of season maintaining our league status and clearing out the diddies.

My take on it, we either punt Daws and let MW and AK solely do the recruitment in summer this season using there knowledge of European football. Kettlewell was working with a very tight budget and in September I did think we have a decent squad but as season has progressed and injuries ramped up we have ended up with guys who evidently aren't good enough to play premier league football and because squad is so big we are also not seeing guys who have came to us as hot prospects (Dickson and Andrews to name but 2). Lewis Grabban instantly comes to mind when I think of they two....

I really dont blame the players as much tbh the last manager is to blame due to his horrible tactics and refusing to change thus the confidence slowly went out the window only Casey by the looks of it called it out for what it was and got put on the naughty step

if Wimmer can get that back into the players then we shall be fine however thats easier said than done.

2-1 to the Superwell get in!

Although we are in the shit at the moment I’m not too worried just now because I believe we can scrape togethers the points required to stay up if we can find a bit of luck.
There’s a few winnable games between now and the split, I don’t see us going on a 10 game losing streak and others will take points from each other.

We've lost our last 6 games never looked like winning them. We taken 8 points from our last 12 league games. There are 12 games left. If we get the same return points wise that will give us 39 points at seasons end. That will put us in the play offs or take us down. Where these winnable games are I'd love to know. We've won two games out our last 12 and never looked like winning 9 of the other 10. I accept I'm more of a glass half empty type. Dear god I just don't see where this turn around is coming from. I think the similarities between us and the Hibs team that collapsed from January, after being 15 points clear of the play offs spot in January,  until seasons end are uncanny. They kept saying they had winnable games and they never appeared. Id dearly love us to fluke any kind of win tomorrow but I just don't see anything other than a defeat because we have a poor squad.

One thing which is alarming is when we have been in this kinda situation we have always had a couple of players at very least one up front that could at least get a goal or two to get us out of bother with our frontline we havent got that kinda player our forward line is all over the place.

Correct and even if we had we have a completely ineffective midfield who offer them no supply.

I'm sure our luck will run out at some point and we will go down but you're right you are a glass half empty type...until it looks like we are going down ill hope it turns around.

There's nothing between a lot of teams, e.g I don't think Aberdeen are much better than us or Dundee,  so a bit of fight and who knows.

MW can certainly earn some kudos if he gets them playing effectively.

Daws should've been gone alongside Alexander. A whole topic was started at that time.

And here is my tuppence worth from back then.

Daws was brought in to support Alexander's philosophy, so he should now be moved on as well. As others have stated, we need a new Head of Recruitment who supports the Club's philosophy, which every manager should align with, including Hammell. It should not be the other way around.

Thats my biggest concern , there is nothing between the teams from 4th down the standard is abysmal across the board and we never look like beating any of them.🙁

I think things look a bit brighter as Wimmer seems intent on at least forcing the issue and trying to score.

We looked more effective v United in that respect.

Tommorrow is a big 3 points though.

The league is a bit of a shitshow and anyone from Hibs down could get drawn into things.

Dundee seem on a spiral.

Hearts for all their plaudits recently are still in the thick of it.

Killie are unconvincing.

St Mirren, again have had plaudits, but could easily find themselves dropping a few spots.

Ross Co on a decent run, but again, unconvincing.

We've seen the win streak, lose streak nature of our team in recent seasons... Now would be a good time to go an a winning, or at least not losing streak.

I liked the gaffers pre match conference - an offensive team who care about possession.  Yes please.

Be interesting to see who makes the starting 11 in coming weeks.  With likes of Kaleta, Koutroumbis, Thomson, Slattery,  Andrews, AP, Masawanhise, Plange, Disckson all being attack minded players we could well see wholesale changes .

Even likes of Paton, Watt may have something to offer with a different approach.

One things for sure there's a reasonable amount of options to pick from.
