robsterwood
Did anyone hear music after victory? Not the usual. Think it was freed from desire. You think Wimmer changed it?

The zipped ball at knee height from the goalie to miller was impressive, the goalie is decent with his distribution

Sometimes I’m not sure that’s a good thing as the players looked confused at times but I do like the bloke. It’s clear he is impressed by miller as well as every time he did something well on the park (which was a lot on Wednesday) Wimmer would turn round and smile at his assistant. It was good to see. A high intensity first 45. In the first half Dundee managed to play quickly right through the middle of us with ease playing through the gaps of the high press midfield, that was also a concern. I liked that he pulls guys aside during the game quite a lot to give them info as well when time allows

That's just practice. You can't get everyone pressing at the right time and stepping back at the right time after a few days training. Wimmer will have to decide if he wants to implement his tactics as soon as possible, with the risk that entails, or compromise until he as a full summer break to bring in exactly what he wants. Absolutely, however you would expect Rangers are more likely to punish us than Dundee whilst still in early stages learning the new approach. Fingers crossed we fill that gap in the middle on Saturday

And never created a shot on target or looked like scoring so I think our high press tactics worked well, the only time they threatened was 2nd half when we sat deeper just before they scored. fizoxy
The problem with the high press is that teams practice how to beat it, and when it comes off, the pressing team looks silly. That's the risk you take with the style of play. You also risk everyone being gassed by 80 mins. Contrast that with the risk of whatever SK ended up doing, and I'm fine with it. I doubt we will approach Rangers exactly the same as Dundee. I don't think the manager is that naieve.

That takes a lot of footballing skill that most Scottish teams don't possess.
