No failures tonight and numerous players could have been considered for MOTM.

Casey obviously caught the eye with his 2 goals and a couple of his mazy runs, but he was at fault for their goal.

SOD, Thompson, Miller and Andrews all had really good games.

Paton looked sharp off the bench and got an assist for the second goal.

Voted for Armstrong as he was an absolute nuisance to Dundee all night, won some amount of balls in the air, and showed some really decent footwork at times under pressure. I like him!

We also lost a lot of control in the match after he went off.

I thought we lost control of the match before he went off. Both he and Halliday were done. Hardly surprising given he was out injured for 6 weeks and has had to play 2 high intensity games in 4 days. Thought the subs gave us fresh impetus and got us back in the game.

Given his defending for their goal, I'm not giving it to Casey...

A few people have said this, but I didn't think so at the time and I'm even less convinced after seeing the replays. It was a perfectly lofted ball, and it's not like he didn't TRY to get his head on it, but unless he was an inch or two taller I'm not seeing much else he could have done there.

TL;DR - Casey got my vote.

Casey was in no-mans land, which isn't unusual.

I can see why fans like him as he brings a great attitude and energy to the team and puts the fear into the opposition when he's in their box at corners and free kicks.

That's all positive.

As a defender, though, he is often out of position and not averse to passing straight to an opponent.

That's the negative.

I haven't seen anything in the past few seasons that suggest he's the solution to our huge defensive issues, but I'll be delighted if Wimmer finds a way to prove me wrong.

He totally misjudged the flight of the ball.

If its going over your head, fine, nothing you can do, but dont jump for it.

He should have just turned and got back in position and stopped the attacker getting a clear run at our box.

It wasn't misjudged by that much, he was only an inch or two away from getting a touch. And I suspect that even if he'd turned and started running as the pass was played he wasn't getting anywhere near the man before the ball hit the net. But, aye, that in itself is indicative that perhaps his positioning wasn't ideal in the first place.

Sometimes, also, you just need to take your hat off to the opposition - that pass from Shaughnessy was perfect.

It was a great pass, and I dont want to be hyper critical of Casey, as I like him, and he had a great game. I just thought he got that bit wrong.

He more than made up for it with the winner. Made the whole thing much more dramatic and ultimately more satisfying! 😉
