I see we are wearing white tomorrow? Why?

I’m sick of us not wearing C&A when there is no need to change. :wallbash:

I am just glad we are not planning on wearing the other away kit , have we won yet ?

Prefer Claret and Amber of course , but on a positive note some results I remember against the 2 Glasgow mobs wearing an away kit

2-0 v Rangers , Owen Coyle double

2-1 v Rangers , Coyle and Falconer

2-1 v Celtic , Scott McDonald day

2-1 v Celtic , Louis Moult day

2-1 v Rangers , Theo Bair and Dan Casey day

I am not optimistic tomorrow, but think we do have a chance

Yeah especially if you get an iconic win, you want to be wearing a traditional strip.

If we were to win a cup again, I'd want the historic pictures having us in a amber top with a claret band.

I’ll worry about that when we reach a final and if we win I don’t think I’ll be giving two fecks what we’re wearing

One thing that attracted me to Motherwell as a young kid was the Claret and Amber colours , and also seeing the Club  badge on TV which I thought looked so cool

Remember a game on Sportscene and if memory is correct was against today's opponents, I must have been about 5-6 years old at the time and thinking I like those colours , I want to support them

What an interesting post. If you don't mind me asking, where were you brought up?

I don't suppose Viewpark is that far from Motherwell but it is part of the Glasgow conurbation and within the draw of Sevco and Celtic. Good for you!

I began going to Fir Park because my family did and we lived not far from Fir Park in Parkhead Street. Only ever one team for me.

My auld man made sure I was going to be a Motherwell fan before I had a choice. Got dragged to my first game about 3 or 4 years old and had my first strip about 5, when replicas were a bit harder to come by. Never really had to opportunity to thank him properly for it, but we did get to celebrate the 91 Cup win together, so will always be grateful for that. Its funny how supporting a club gets under your skin. I live in Ayrshire now and, whilst I do have a passing affection for both Kilmarnock and Ayr, if Motherwell folded tomorrow, I couldnt ever feel the same way about supporting either of them.

Anyway, Up The 'Well! Intae these mutant zombie barstewards! 😆

My Dad originally was a bluenose before being converted by me , but my uncle had been going to see Well since the 1950s , and my cousin since the 1980s which helped things of course

Remember thinking I wish I stayed in Motherwell at that time , and eventually I did when I met my now wife , who has a family connection to Bobby Graham

Viewpark is more Bellshill than Glasgow, unless you count Tannochside, Uddingston, Bargeddie and Coatbridge as part of the Glasgow conurbation. Which then adds in Motherwell and Hamilton

Alan Burrows (Flow ) was a guy I went to school with in Uddingston , one of the big Well fans in the area of course , now at the Dons

I wonder what Herr Wimmer will think of all this pomp and ceremony today.

Is the stage set for March 1941 all over again in Govan? Or will Staunch FC prevail over FC Wimmerwell this time?

I reckon he won’t be too bothered. He might manage a slight cringe like most people outwith Rangers do but I don’t think it will ruin his day.

He'll probably think "Why are they celebrating Armed Forces Day today when its official date is 28th June. Must be idiots running this club" (but in German).

Such a fkn weird club, surely they’re “normal” fans …. There must be some..,, must cringe at this?

I wonder how much in tax should have been paid but wasn’t in the EBt years. That money might have helped swell the coffers of a depleted few regiments.
