Hopefully nobody will have had time to feed the "we need to be at our best and them to underperform" patter to Wimmer yet and he just sets out a team that will earn some points. 

 

Doubt we'll get any, but at the very least it will be more competitve game time to work on the new tactics.

Based on his first two lineups, I expect some changes for Saturday as part of wimmer assessing the squad. I wouldn't be surprised to see us rotate wingbacks over the next few games considering how much they're asked to do. 

It is a total free hit though, so hopefully we treat it like that and try to cause them problems.

Ah it’s the “Hands across the M74 derby” 

Having a manager who is an outsider to Scottish football has served us well in the past in this fixture so it could potentially work in our favour. 
 

However I can’t see past a narrow loss and another win for Barry’s rejuvenated Gers.

I think given what happened at Rugby Park it could be a tough atmosphere, although if we score early/stop them the crowd could turn.

For all the talk of Ferguson's apparent lack of tactical nous, he seemed to have got the place fired up.

They may just have too much for us, especially if we see a drop-off in second half,. They ate slso far better technically than Dundee and gaps when pressing could be exploited.

We'll see how we get on.

I can see a few Motherwell players massively raising their game for this fixture. Add to that the new manager bounce and the opposition being led by the Staunch Bros, I have the feeling we’re in for a good game.

The problem with writing off Barry Ferguson as a dumb bigot is that you require to ignore his choice of assistants. Dodds and McCann are both decent coaches.

Ferguson is just the front man to keep the natives happy and get the season tickets renewed, similar to Steven Gerards role with Beale.

As a coaching team they will probably do ok in the short term. But they will eventually run up against the same problems as the previous incumbents, which is Celtic have more money than they do.

I do expect a decent performance from us, but I dont think Rangers will be as shite as some are expecting.
