He was. Big time. Particularly when he was saying that the second goal was from moves they worked on in training. I am liking Halliday more by the day tbh

Last season I was not so sure about Andy Halliday

This season he has came on leaps and bounds , must be at least a contender for Well player of the season

My reference to SK was the way we set up this season, however the two games last year were bit more smash n grab and hitting on the break. I thought we had far more control of the game on Saturday than we normally do.

This true. Reflected in possession stats also as markedly better. We had below or around 30% possession against St Johnston both cup and league games. and Kilmarnock. Also recent stats reflect more contacts in final third. 40% against Dundee, 6 shots on target and 19 touches in box and Ranger had 14 touches in box and  3 shots  on target.  Early signs very positive. St Johnston cup match most dissapointing having 1 shot on target. Out with a whimper. Pity we didn't get Wimmer in before that. Still future looks positive. Suppose Scouts/Kettlewell deserve some credit for some of the signings that came in that now look fairly good.  Positive signs.

Great to hear that Andy Halliday was sticking up for us

I don't have a problem with who a player supports , or where loyalties lie

All u can ask for is that a player puts in an honest shift like he did , same as the likes of Davie Cooper, Bobby Russell and Tommy Coyne did

Exactly.

Most professional players have no problems putting aside their boyhood allegiances to do their job. It's a completely different mindset.

Another classic example is Scott McDonald. He didn't exactly hold back on Skippy Sunday. He did (and enjoyed) the job we were paying for, in front of the home fans he played for.

Yeah Halliday is quite decent.

He's always good on the podcasts and SSB.

Also think the last few games are up there with some of his best in a Motherwell strip.

Someone on here said last year that that a one legged Slattery would be better than Halliday :)

Someone offered me 100 quid for my season ticket on skippy Sunday. I declined :) Random Celtic fan I met on the bus.

Win - win there. Keep and remember the game for ever. Sell it, and you get a hundred quid and the tears of a Celtic fan!

He was excellent in his first period but he was still terrible for bumming up the Old Firm. Mind you I think had it not been for the tragic death of Phil O'Donnell he may have jumped ship to Hearts. He does deserve credit for the way he handled the tragic death of Phil O'Donnell.

He doesn't. watch the interviews back, he's whoring himself for the Scotland job, lip service to his employers at the time

He's always been a good player it's just that we weren't using him in his best position.

He was berated for slowing things down by continually turning back on himself and killing any momentum we had going forward but it now looks like he was only following orders.

No doubt. When you're a professional footballer it must be demotivating having to sit in and and/or hit long balls, ending every game with 30% possession.

The thing is, it looks like the scouts managed to identify some decent players - we just didn't play to their strengths.
