Relegation and Wimmer

Unless Wimmer chooses to share his contract details with the media, that will be confidential.

However, as anyone can resign at any time, he wouldn't really need an exit clause - it would just be a matter of negotiating the details for leaving. Ditto for sacking him.

If we are relegated he will go, Iā€™m pretty certain of that. It may well be on his own terms or a mutual agreement but heā€™ll be gone at the end of the season if we are no longer in the top flight imo. I actually suspect that he might go in the summer regardless of what league we are in.

I actually think this as well. Iā€™m not sure why I just donā€™t see him as a long term Motherwell manager.

I hope Iā€™m wrong and I hope we win on Saturday and stay in the top 6 and he stays but just something is niggling away thinking he wonā€™t be.

The fact his family arenā€™t coming over worries me, family is the main thing for people and if things donā€™t go well they are the first people to help you out.

I know Alexanderā€™s family and Mcghees were both down south but that was just a few hours in the car or an hours flight, the ar5e end of Germany is a big trickier to make a quick trip to see his young kids.

Why on earth we even discussing this? Jeez guy only been in door 2 months and inherited a huge mess left by that previous person.Ā  7 games left and come 5.00 Saturday might even be in top 6.

See if we are 11th with say 2 games left then I will worry.

Positive vibes folks

I agree. I don't see why he would be leaving if we stay up or go down. He surely knew how badly Motherwell were struggling before he took the job. He clearly wanted the challengeĀ

It's normally @grizzlygĀ who's cracking the jokes but thankfully he's the voice of reason.Ā

The position we're in is not Wimmers Ā fault but it is his problem to solve. He came in after the window and needs time, possibly years to sort out the mess.

Irrespective of how we finish the season , the time for judgment is much longer in the future.Ā

Don't think it will take years.Ā

Aye, Iā€™ve said several times that itā€™ll take him at least 18 months to sort out the mess heā€™s inherited. But thatā€™s only if heā€™s got it in him to do so.Ā

Because I think he might well chuck it in the summer. Based on nothing mind you, just a hunch but as I said yesterday this just doesnā€™t feel like a long term tenure.Ā

Why would he in your opinion just out of interestĀ

Because heā€™s a foreign coach with very little understanding of Scottish football (and thatā€™s not a slight on him, itā€™s just what it is) and he inherited an absolute shit show from his predecessor. Like I said itā€™s just a hunch and I could be totally wrong but I just donā€™t see Michael Wimmer being here long term.Ā

I get that but surely he did his homework before he came here and knew we were struggling. I'll be sorry if he goes. The last thing we need is yet another new manager.Ā

This is my hunch too. I just canā€™t see him being around for long and at best may last until Oct/Nov.Ā

Far too early to judge pal. There would have been a lot of discussions before he took over so I am quite sure he knows this will be a long term project.Ā  Ā Let's just see how it pans out

I don't understand why people are saying this - would it be different if we were winning. Why would he take a 6 month job? Are people thinking the same about Simo?Ā

I think it depends a lot on the background of the way we run our club.
I am so intrigued on how players are signed and how much say Wimmer has or even Kettlewell had on this.
If we continue in the same vein and sign crocks from Ross County (who wimmer will be unaware of) I am fairly sure that the pain will continue.
Could we see some input from the manager from abroad? I always liked the Hearts under Romanov raiding the Slovak and Lithuanian leagues (not highly paid) and promoting our youths. I am done with journeymen from Scotland & guys who can't get a game for lower league English sides.
McGhee is a first team player at Dundee and I am ok with this.

This season has been a shit show from poor recruitment to a raft of injuries to then more poor short term signings to cover those injuries to then changing manager,it's a miracle were not in a worse position in the league, hopefully a bit of positivity around fir park on Saturday can help to get a big 3 points.on wimmer,he has been left with a shambles to sort through and it's hardly been a surprise that's it's been up and down since he came in,he will be learning all the time and is very close to being able to clear the decks and start to put a squad together that will be in line with his thinking.im happy that we took a chance on him too see what he can do rather than any of the usual hangers on that blight scottish football.
