Motherwell Finances 2008

Very interesting read. One thing that makes me scoff a bit though is the following:

"There are no notes in the accounts suggesting any of the directors took money out of the club since 2002. Whether this is for the love of the club, or the embarrassment of having taken the club into administration isn't clear.

Dundee United currently has the same policy and if this can all be taken at face value then it shows a great love for the clubs involved."

Another thing - who did we pay £2k for in 2007?

It's also disappointing that John Boyle has a £1.2m long-term loan that he is charging the club 5% on. I suppose we can't really blame him for that but disappointing nonetheless. Sixty grand per year could be the equivalent of a first team player for us.

But that is a great site. Could easily spend hours on it.

Frazzle

interesting to note that the wage bill has jumped over a million pounds in the last year. If Boyle was propping up the wages of porter and shug, then surely this shouldn't have been part of the finances?

also, when reading the administration part, it becomes clear to me that we have quite a lot to be thankful to Mr Boyle for.

Yeah, granted he was in charge of getting us into this sorry mess in the first place, but many other business men / chairman would have been out of there faster than a rat up a drain pipe.
